(Piper bc I want to. Jason doesn't need all the glory!)

I kept looking at Madi. She had looked ready to cry ever since we left Leo with Cal. Her love for him was undeniable, and she knew it. Piper grabbed Jason's hand for comfort and warmth. But then they turned burning cold,

"Ow!" Piper flinched and released his hand.

"Warmth is not a good idea here." Ice princess said, "Especially when I am your best chance for survival. Please this way." we continued to follow her and I looked at Madi and whispered,

"Leo's gonna be fine okay?" Madi almost teared up but wiped her face. That's when I noticed she was wearing Leo's jacket! She smelled the sleeves and seemed to relax.

"It smells like him." She muttered to me. I was going to have to be here for my friends. Jason had started to space out, and Madi wanted to go back to her best friend.

"You two still with me?"

"Yeah," Jason nodded.

"Hm?" Madi didn't stop staring at her feet the entire time we were walking.

"This is the throne room." She said, "Be warned, my Father can be chilly. I will translate and try to encourage him to hear you out. I do hope he spares you. We can have a lot of fun." She opened the doors and we entered.

"What's your name?" Madi asked her.

"Khione." Khione said coldly, "Now come. Let's hope you survive your little talk." It was even colder in here. Madi huddled more in Leo's jacket. She looked inches away from tears. There were ice sculptures, at least that's what I hoped they were.

"It's fine. My father has ordered them not to kill you yet." Khione said.

"Wonderful," Madi rolled her eyes.

"Thanks," I said.

"Super." Jason said.

"Keep moving Jason Junior." Zethes told Jason.

"Please don't call me that."

"My father is not a patient man," Zethes warned, "and the beautiful Piper, sadly, is losing her magic hair do. And the lovely Madison. Well looks quite bad in that coat, maybe I could lend you ladies–"

"No!" Madi glared at him, "I like my coat!" She turned and faced Boreas.

"Bienvenu," He said, "Je suis Boreas le Roi. Et vous?" Khione was about to speak when me and Madi stepped forward and curtsied.

"Votre Majesté, je suis Madison Dane, fils de Poséidon" Madi said.

"Je suis Piper Mclean. Et c'est Jason, fils de Zues," Piper introduced her and Jason. The king smiled at us and said,

"Vous parlez français? Très bien!"

"Piper, you speak French?" Jason said in astonishment.

"No, why?"

"Because you just did Piper," Madi said. The king said something else and Madi answered because I was too stunned to.

"Oui! Votre Majesté." she said.

"The king says–" Khione began.

"That I'm a daughter of Aphrodite, but Madison is not. So he wishes to know how she speaks french." I translated.

"And you won't have to translate any more Khione," Madi added that turned her attention to Boreas, and had another exchange explaining that she had French heritage and it was what she spoke at home before her mother died.
