"i replied to luke's comment with a heart? literally couldn't have been any more drier than that" she grumbled at herself, shaking her head as she walked back and forth.
"lex, you really need to stop freaking out" cole chuckled, looking back down at his phone.
lexie payed him no mind and instead allowed her mind to go overdrive, the feeling of wanting to fucking die consuming her veins until suddenly her phone started ringing "oh my god. cole, he's calling me. what do i do? cole!"
"just answer!"
"okay!" she yelled, breathing deeply for a moment before ultimately answering the call "hey"
"hey lovie. just wanted to congratulate you about your album, i'm about to listen to it" he muttered. lexie was almost able to picture him with a smile on his face, she hoped he at least had one.
"oh! thank you lukey. i hope you'll like it" she said, barely managing to keep the surprise and panic out of her tone.
"i'm sure i will" he said, encasing them both into a silence, not comfortable at all.
cole looked up from his phone with a grin, swallowing his need to laugh at lexie's expression "um, cole's calling me over, i have to go" she said suddenly causing cole's eyes to widen.
"yeah, sure. see you soon?" luke said almost hesitantly, only worsening lexie's anxiety. why was this conversation so fucking awkward?
"yeah, bye luke"
"god, that was awkward even for me" cole snickered, looking at her with his eyebrows raised and an amused expression.
"he's gonna listen to the album? why is he doing that?" she asked, not really looking for an answer but cole, being the good best friend he was, provided one either way.
"maybe because he's your third biggest hype man?"
lexie furrowed her brows and looked up at him, surveying his expression with curiosity "third?"
"i hate to admit it but trev's first. then there's me, of course and then luke. he'll probably have to fight ethan and mark for the spot though" cole said as he scrolled through his phone. lexie just looked at him weirdly before shaking her head "there's also the fact that the album is about him"
"not entirely" she mumbled with a childish frown.
"i think you just need to stop hooking up with him and tell him you love him" cole shrugged, finally letting go of his phone to look at her.
"wow. that was foul. even for you" she frowned, falling down on the bed next to him with a sigh.
"i'm saying the truth though"
