As they pulled up outside Grace's apartment, the distant sound of a meow caught their attention, drawing their gaze to the alley beside the building. Grace's curiosity piqued, she followed the sound, her heart skipping a beat as she spotted a small tabby cat huddled in the corner, its fur matted and damp from the rain.
"Oh, poor thing," Grace murmured, her voice tinged with sympathy as she knelt down beside the trembling creature. "It looks like it's been out here all night."
Tom joined her side, his brow furrowed with concern as he observed the tiny feline. "What should we do?" he asked, his voice soft with compassion.
Grace's eyes sparkled with determination as she scooped up the shivering cat in her arms, cradling it close to her chest. "We're taking him home," she declared, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
Together, they carried the kitten back to Grace's apartment, where they set about tending to its needs. Tom fetched a warm towel to dry off the cat's fur, while Grace rummaged through her cupboards in search of food and water.

Grace's lips curved into a mischievous smile as she replied, "I think we should name him Benjamin, after Taylor Swift's cat."
Tom chuckled at the suggestion, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Benjamin it is," he agreed, reaching out to gently stroke the kitten's soft fur.
With the naming ceremony complete, Grace and Tom settled onto the couch, the kitten nestled between them as they watched a movie together. As the night wore on and the warmth of the apartment enveloped them, Grace couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over her, her heart full with the knowledge that she had found a kindred spirit in Tom.

"Isn't he just the cutest thing?" Grace whispered, her voice filled with awe as she stroked Benjamin's fur.
Tom smiled down at the kitten, his heart swelling with affection. "He definitely is," he agreed, his gaze softening as he looked at Grace. "Just like his new mother."
They spent the rest of the evening doting on Benjamin, showering him with love and attention as they bonded over their newfound furry friend. And as they drifted off to sleep, the warmth of their connection enveloping them like a cozy blanket, Grace couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and gratitude for the unexpected turn her day had taken—and the man who had made it all possible.
