"Derek, she will regain mobility after rehab. That's great news." Addison tried to explain to her brother in law

"She's scared, Addie! She's terrified but what do I even tell her? There's nothing I can even do to help her!" Derek raised his voice

"Be there for her. She's scared because you've barely been seeing her when she's awake." Addison carefully said

"Because I feel like I lied to her. I told her it would be okay!" Derek snapped

"It will be okay. Her arms are just weak right now. Amy had to touch the muscles of her arms but she will regain almost everything but with way less pain than she was in before." The redhead kept trying

"But she will need to go to a rehab facility and she doesn't know yet." Derek placed his head in his hands

"Mom and dad offered to help out. Mark and I can as well.." Addison muttered, knowing it was rather unrealistic

"I can't tell her that." Derek shook his head and got up, leaving his office

"Derek!" Addison wanted to stop him but he was gone. So she just returned to Meredith's room, hoping to see him there

"Hey honey, Carolyn is bringing the girls soon. Mark is taking Tommy and Eliza home." Christopher told her

"Thanks dad." Addison nodded and walked up to Meredith, sitting down on the bed. "How are you feeling?"

"Like I've been hit by a truck." Meredith tried to chuckle but it was very uncomfortable

"The girls will be here in a bit, do you want us to help you sit up?" Addison asked

"Yeah. Can you fix my hair a bit?" Meredith asked Addison, her shoulder moving a bit as she clearly attempted to move her arms

"Of course I can." Addison nodded and moved the headrest so Meredith was sitting up, her and Christopher made sure pillows were keeping her stable and upright in the bed

"These splints are itchy and ugly. Can you remove them until the girls go home?" Meredith asked, looking at the white splints that kept her fingers from curling in which would be painful since she had full sensation

"Of course, honey." Christopher nodded

"Is Derek getting the girls?" Meredith asked, looking in her lap as she wasn't sure she could hear the truth of why he wasn't here

"No, I'm afraid it's my fault." Addison sighed

"He's just scared. It's gonna be okay." Meredith said, her voice shaking but then they heard a soft knock on the door

"Hey, hey! I got three girls with me that missed you a lot." Carolyn smiled, she was carrying Charlotte

"Oh princess, come here, I'll place you next to your mommy." Addison lifted the girl and made sure to place her well next to Meredith. The little girl cuddled into her side right away

"Hi mommy." Emma walked up to her with Grace

"Hey monkeys, I heard you have been super brave during the flight. I'm so proud of you." Meredith smiled softly, struggling to keep it dry

"We'll give you a minute." The adults said and sneaked out of the room, although keeping an eye on them through the window

"Mommy, daddy said something about your arms." Grace muttered

"They're weak for now because the surgery fixed my back but I'll need to train a lot to get them super strong again." Meredith winked, trying to make it sounds like not a big deal to them

"Can you move them?" Emma asked worriedly

"I can a bit, my right one is a bit stronger. But I will need one of those electric chairs for a bit so I can exercise enough."

"When will you be home?" Charlotte asked, looking up at her mom

"Well.. I'll probably need to go to rehab so I can work extra hard. Daddy and I need to talk about it but it will probably be a few weeks until I'm home." Meredith explained

"No!" Charlotte frowned, all three girls' faces changing in an instant. "No!"

"Mommy, that long?" Grace frowned while Emma stayed quiet, moving to fidget with her mom's blanket, trying not to get emotional

"We'll see." Meredith muttered, attempting to move her right arm and semi managing. Her wrist didn't move but she moved her arm to hold charlotte a little closer, not able to reach Grace or Emma

"Where's daddy?" Grace asked, she was a real daddy's girl

"He's taking a small nap I think, daddy's very tired." Meredith didn't wanna lie to them, she just didn't wanna admit that she had no idea either
