Third Person

The loud buzzer echoed off of the court walls, as the ball was released from the mixed mans hands. Offseason was no less than 2 weeks in and the boy was already putting in work at the gym. Becoming MVP, and winning this years NBA championship was one of the best feelings that he's ever experienced.

And he wanted nothing more but to experience that feeling as many times as he could throughout his career.

He finished his workout and hit the showers as he knew that he had a busy day ahead of him. First things first he had a meeting with his Wedding Planner. The mixed man was finally settling down with his on and on again girlfriend of 2 years Jada Hill.

The couple has been through a lot but he's finally ready to fix things and make them official. He figured what better way to do that then tie the knot? Now not everyone was happy about this idea, when Stephen first broke the news to his family, and friends it caused a fallout as Jada wasn't exactly always the greatest girlfriend to the man.

But Stephen always pushed past that. He was so infatuated with the woman he fell in love with in college, that he would just do about anything for her. But Jada Hill isn't the same woman that she was in college in fact she was a completely different person, there was a side to her that Stephen was completely unaware of.

Stephen POV

"Hey baby" I smiled as I walked in the kitchen."

"Thank God! I thought that you weren't going to make it, she's going to be here in about 10 minutes!"

"Baby relax, it's gonna be fine, besides you know I wouldn't miss this."

"Your right" she breathed.

She's always worrying over something, especially if something isn't going her way. I swear she's always keeping me on my toes.

"I'm going to go change real quick!" She said as she rushed upstairs.

I sighed and laughed. I knew that this was about to be a hell of a meeting, as Jada has been fantasizing and talking about how she wants the wedding to go, ever since the night I proposed to her. I just hope that she doesn't talk the girls ear off.

My thoughts were interrupted by the chime of the doorbell. I opened up the door and came face to face with a whole bunch of binders and pamphlets.

"Hey do you need some help with that" I laughed as I reached out and took some of the binders from the heavy stack revealing a bright smile, and the most curliest hair I've ever seen, gorgeous was an understatement

Watch it Steph.

"Come on in." I said as I held the door open for her.

"Thank you" she smiled as she walked into the living room.

"You can go ahead and set everything on the table".

We set everything down damn this is a lot of stuff...this has Jade written all over it.

"I know it's a lot sorry, but you're fiancé never really clarified on what edition she wanted....so I wanted to be safe and bring them all" she rambled.

"Sorry I'm Brooklyn Davis" she smiled as she stuck her hand out.

"I'm Wardell but call me Stephen" I smiled as I took her soft hands in my own.

"Yeah I know, I just want to say congratulations on your championship, you had a pretty good season."

"Oh you're a Warriors fan" I smirked as I raised an eyebrow. "I like you already".

She laughed but then we were interrupted by Jada clearing her throat.

"You must be Brooklyn" Jada smiled as she stuck out her hand, "nice to meet you".

"Pleasures all mine" Brooklyn smiled "you have a beautiful home, I'm gonna fall in love with your decor."

"Thank you, I designed it myself" Jada grinned before looking at the coffee table. "What's all this?"

"Oh, um you never clarified what you were looking for, so I just brought every issue" she nervously smiled.

"Oh it's fine, you just came prepared which is good! Now let's get started shall we, I'm excited!" She squealed.

Brooklyn smiled "Me too! So I think we should get started with the..."

What was supposed to be an hour meeting turned into 2 hours of wedding talk. I was ready to call it quits and go take a nap, because I was getting agitated. I couldn't get a word in, Jade would always interrupt or disagree with me.

"Steph are you listening?" Jada asked as she snapped me out of my sleepy trance.

"Huh Oh! Yeah I am, I heard everything that you said."

"Mhmm" she raised an eyebrow."What do you think though, should the table cloths be a cream color, or more of a beige?"

"You know...I'm not really digging those two I really like the champagne colored one better."

"What" she furrowed her eyebrows.

"Yeah I mean the bridesmaids color matches that one better then the cream. I just figured that it'll complement the color better."

See I pay attention.

"I don't really like the champagne color, it's too dark and plain."

Well damn.

"But the beige doesn't match" I shook my head.

"So what are you trying to say that I can't coordinate?" She frowned.

She wanted my opinion, now she wants to get mad because it's not what she wanted to hear. She does this all the time.

Brooklyn must've noticed the rising tension because she held up a palate. "How about this color? It's dark but not dark enough and it has hints on pink that can complement the bridesmaids dresses."

Me and Jada studied the color pallet for a minute before she spoke up.

"...This ones not that bad."

"I like it" I smiled and looked up at her. "Thank you" I mouthed.

"Alright we've covered everything we needed to cover for today, so thank you." Jada smiled.

"Of course, when is the next time that you want to meet up?"

"How about Friday?"

"We're going to my parents house on Friday." I reminded Jada.

"O-Oh yeah...okay I have a trip next week, so I don't think we'll be able to meet-"

"I'll do it!" I cut her off, the sooner we get this planning process over with the better.

"Really...are you sure?"

"Yeah, besides we already told her everything that we have in mind."

More like what you have in mind.

"Alright then, but if its something drastic comes up like color schemes or even guests pleas-"

"Call you I know, but trust me I can handle it". "Brooklyn how's next Monday?" I smiled.

"Perfect" she smiled.
