¿Why they call you like a food name? Did they think your a food?? did they want to eat you? after all you hear peruvians eat pigeons... you shake your head , that not can be true

In Peru say ¨causa¨ is like say ¨friend¨ or ¨dude¨
Examples:
USA: Hey dude!
Peru: Oye(sometimes pronunce o'e) causa! (Hey causa)
USA: You are my friend
Peru: Eres mi causa! (You are my causa)
