If only the distance could know
How much it hurts me.
If only the distance could know
How much I need him
How much he heals my soul
How much my body craves his touch.
If only the distance could know
How hard it is to wake up each morning
Knowing that he isn't beside me
Knowing that I won't see him that day.
If only the distance could know
How much I hate it
This pure, boiling hatred for these miles between us
Makes me feel so helpless
Makes me feel so alone.
If only the distance could know
That I miss my home
For that is what he is
Wherever his is, my soul follows
Wherever he resides is where I long to be
But..
If only the distance could know
That someday I will travel
The miles it has between us
And conquer this challenge it presented me
If only the distance could know
That someday I will run into his arms
And hold him close
Feeling him against me
Feeling the love in person
And if only the distance could know
That it doesn't matter
And that someday
there won't be any distance between us
At all...
