These are the elements that have created the most powerful and majestic creatures. This is the very blood and core of my race's creation.
We are intelligent and proud, we are Dragons.

I was born just before a vicious war between the Warm Ones -the dragons- and the Cold Hearts -the ice dragons-. The War of Cold Fire.
Since the very first arrival of the Ice dragons, -for reasons unknown-, the two groups came to quickly hate each other. So both groups separated to create their own kingdom with their own rules and leaders. This ensured no conflicts between the Warm Ones and the Cold Hearts.
It was peaceful for many centuries, and our two races co-existed, until one fateful and tragic evening, our young soon-to-be dragon king was discovered slain.
The Warm ones flew into a fierce and fiery rage, and attacked the cold land of the Ice dragons. Burning down whatever they could.
When the Warm Ones were satisfied with the amount of destruction they inflicted on the Ice Dragon's home, they left to grieve and mourn the death of their young Dragon king.
The Ice dragons were mortified by the sudden attack. Fueled on hatred and fury, the Cold Hearts maliciously promised revenge.
And so, what was once was a peaceful and prosperous haven for dragons, became a life of caution and anxiety.
However, I was born just before these events took place. I had no idea of what was to come, and I certainly did not foresee the impact of my part on the war.

My eyes were shut tight, I try to stir in my very cramped shell. I knew it was finally time for me to hatch out of my egg. However I did not feel the need to rush and get out. I would take my time, and stay in an extra day or so if I saw fit.
I heard noise and movement on the outside. It felt as though multiple beings were humming. I instinctively have the urge to break free of my egg, I knew that the humming is the reason for this. -The humming was to encourage stubborn or late hatchlings to emerge from their eggs-.
Despite my instincts, I resist my urge to break out my shell. I shall come out whenever I so please. To prove my point I rocked myself violently, then I remained still. Shortly the humming stopped. Good, they understood my message, I thought smugly.
It was midnight before I could no longer endure my cramped and sore body from my tiny shell. I pushed and clawed in my very restricted space with no luck.
I slowly opened my eyes, only to get a thin sticky trail of mucus enter my eyes. I snarled in frustration, and started kicking violently, with still no luck.
I heard the soft humming start again, giving me more determination to break free of my egg. I tried opening my wings to give my self more space. I heard a soft crack.
Realizing my wings were stronger than my kicking, I burst my wings open, expecting the entire egg to shatter open. However to my utter disappointment, I only managed to make another crack.
