The second part of our GT debunk is the Mario Timeline theory. Is there anything wrong, you ask?
Nope.
I agree with the timeline. MatPat did pretty well with the timeline, and I believe this makes sense (well, most of it anyway.) But of course, I not just talking about the timeline but of the other reveal MatPat made: The Mario in the original Donkey Kong arcade games, and current day Mario are NOT the same person, but father and son.
And you know what? This makes sense. Realistically, anyway.
Course, the most obvious truth is that the developers screwed up when they said that arcade DK and current DK are grandfather and grandson. They probably forgot about Mario when doing that.
But in the Mario universe, the only logical explanation for this would be what MatPat said, ESPECIALLY when you are considering that Mario is 26.
So, instead of debunking, I'm going to answer some lingering questions commenters had.
"What about Pauline?"
It's most likely two things: one, Pauline is REALLY good at makeup, or two, the Pauline we see is a different person.
"The Paper Mario series?"
Those are in a different dimension.
So, with those questions answered, let's go back to the timeline: it needs some minor tweaking, if you ask me.
MatPat got everything right, except for the very end of the timeline. There, since he was using Rosalina Theory logic, put the Super Mario Land series at the very end due to theorizing that Peach left him for Luigi, thus Rosalina's existence, and Mario moved on to Princess Daisy.
But, since in the last chapter we proved that theory wrong, it meant that everyone's FAVORITE video game couples are still legit. So where would they go?
Between the early games of course!
If you wanted the see to it that Mario wasn't some player of sort, it would best make sense that the Super Mario Land series come between Super Mario World and 64. There's actually a good reason for this: Wario. He appeared in one of the Land games, and if the timeline is correct, that was where he first appeared.
Or so MatPat thought!
I guess he didn't look on to this not so minor detail: He put Super Mario 64("or better yet, it's remake" his words) Super Mario 64 DS BEFORE Super Mario Land:6 golden coins. Which, is concerning, because WARIO APPEARED IN THE SUPER MARIO 64 REMAKE!!!
This means that it Super Mario Land: Six Golden Coins came BEFORE 64, if you are assuming that 6 golden coins was where Wario first appeared.
And that's it! In the next chapter, I will be dealing with the most controversial Mario theory ever: The Mario is Mental Theory.
