Sometimes, figuring out if your a therian can be a big headache. But, with the right research, you might be awoken or later! With this part, this might help you figure it out!

Step 1: Retract your animalistic behaviors when you were little or recently

This might take lots of brainstorming if you can't remember, but some things might come to mind. This might include..

- Acting like an animal (Walking on all fours and enjoying it, barking out of joy, animal sounds you might make on accident, etc.)

- More animal-like actions! (Urging to bite, etc. )

Retracing can help with the start of the journey! I recommend doing this first before anything else.

Step 2: Have you felt, odd? Like your just not in the correct body..

This is called "Species Dysphoria." This doesn't classify as an actual disorder of any kind. This generally is only for therians, and is another term of saying you don't feel like you're the correct species, you're not in the body you're supposed to be in. This does lead to other things like stress and confusion.

Step 3: Have you felt paws or tails but they are there? Phantom shifts.

Phantoms shifts is the sensation of non-human body parts that aren't actually there. This can commonly be tails, paws, muzzles, fur and claws. Some therians have reported feeling pain in these areas, and if that is happening to you, you might just be a therian.

Step 4: General Shifting Check

There are lots of different types of shifts other than Phantom shifts, so I will now list the most common:

Auditory Shift
Experiencing a shift by sounds they notice around them. This can be linked to if oneself has a strong hearing ability.

Dream Shift
Becoming an animal within a dream, either partially or entirely.

Cameo Shift
Feeling like an animal that is not a known theriotype.

Emotional Shift

Shifting occurs during a certain emotional state, e.g. stress or anger; usually with another type of shift.

 Sensory Shift
One's senses temporarily become more like that of the theriotype.

Perception Shift
Perceiving things in a way which is more associated with the theriotype.

 Mental Shift
A change in mindset, thinking more like the theriotype.
