When the six kids arrived at the address given, they didn't expect the house to be a few blocks down by the edge of the forest.
They walked up the pavement and inside the house, they could hear muffled voices and music in Spanish.
"Guys it's Selena! "
Aidan lets out in recognition of the singer's voice.
"You listen to her music?" Taylor asks turning to him excitedly with star eyes.
"Duh, who doesn't?!" he replies with a wider-than-usual grin.
"Guys, can we just focus? " Tyler lets out interrupting them.
"Be serious, let's just get those files and leave already! "
Ashlyn agreed but she didn't like his harsh approach.
Taylor's smile turned into a frown.
Her brother was on edge but usually not this on edge.
Ever since meeting Y/n, he'd been noticeably off.
Yet, with everything going on it's hard to find time to even ask about it.
The cold air was filled with deafening silence as Tyler gripped his shoulder.
Regret for yelling but before he can apologize to the group, it's interrupted by the click of a door opening.
"Oh my, I knew I heard someone out here. "
Turning around, they could see a woman standing on the front porch.
Long curly hair that went to her waist, green eyes, and caramel skin.
But nothing was sweeter as her soft smile and dimples that showed through.
She wore a bright yellow romper that paired well with her caramel complexion.
"You must be Y/n's classmates, please come in! "
she says to the group as she walks down from her white-painted porch and begins pushing the group inside insistently.
Upon entering, every chair had a relative sitting down along with a crowded couch.
Plates of delicious food were scattered here and there on tables.
Multitudes of conversations in Spanish or English can be heard.
Despite the overcrowdedness, it felt warm, it felt like family.
