Chapter 5 ~•Defeated•~

Mom just gives me a smile. "Melissa told me not to tell your."

"What!" I turn and smack Melissa's arm.

After talking for a bit, I take Melissa to my room. She flops onto my bed and relaxes. "Okay, tell me everything!"

I sit down beside her and tell her about the fire, and Kara's death. I leave the part out where I see Jupiter and the weird dude in the house. When I'm done my story Melissa has tears escaping her eyes. She wipes them and hugs me for the millionth time.

"Alright, now what happened between you and Dylan? I swear you guys were going to get married!"

I sigh and feel tears appear in my eyes. I blink them away and start the story.

"Well, when you left things were going great as usual. Then one day I saw Dylan kissing Monica the Queen B."

Melissa gasps. "What did you do about that?"

"I did nothing because I'm a freaking idiot. I let it slide. After a week Dylan asked me if I wanted to go to a party at his friends house. I agreed, so we went and I wasn't going to drink. Dylan kept telling me to drink, so I did eventually. I only took a cup of alcohol, but what I didn't realize was that Dylan put drugs in it."

"What?!" Melissa shouts. I shush her and she quiets down. "He wasn't that type of guy."

"I don't know what happened to him. Anyways I woke up to a guy on top of me, and it wasn't Dylan. Thanks to my dad I knew what to do in that situation. So I beat that dude up and I left the party. I found out Dylan drugged me so his friend could...you know. I didn't get raped but I did get my heart smashed and run over," I say and start to cry. Melissa holds me as I shake and let my tears out.

I let out the last tear and Melissa lets go of me. "That stupid bas-"

"No swearing, Jack can probably hear you."

Melissa curses under her breath. "Why would he do that?"

"I don't know, because he's an idiot!"

"Is he still at this school?" Melissa asks.

"Yes, and I punched his nose the other day when he came up to me. Stupid shit thought he could just walk up to me with no harm. He thought wrong."

Melissa smiles and high fives me. "That's my feisty best friend! I'm going to go up to him tomorrow and break his pretty legs and arms off."

After laughing our butts off, I show Melissa the school work she missed. Then we watch Teen Wolf together for the rest of the night.

•Inferno's POV•

I watch from the tree as Phoenix and another girl enter the room. They sit down and chat for a bit. Then Phoenix starts to cry and I smile. After that, they start to laugh and watch some show.

I grin widely as I remember lighting Phoenix's house on fire. I can still hear the agonizing scream of Phoenix's sisters scream, which made me laugh and grin.

I jump off the tree and run to my hideout. I go inside and look at myself in the mirror. All of a sudden my eyes turn red and I see black stuff curling around me. I close my eyes and shake my head. I look again in the mirror and I look normal. I smile but then the image comes back. This time the black stuff is coming out my mouth. I punch the mirror and walk away.

All of a sudden I start to hear things, then I see a shadow of a figure go by. I wipe my head to the side to see nothing.

My head starts to throb and I grab my head. I feel dizzy and I start to spin around.

What's wrong with me?

I shout as my vision starts to go black.

I wake up and bolt upright. I was at my hideout, but now I'm in a forest. I get up and start to run. I use my fire to light the trees up. I laugh as I hear animals running away from the fire.

I stop abruptly as I hear someone behind me. I spin around and see a guy in a blue suit. "Who are you? And what are you doing?" The guy asks.

I laugh menacingly. "Why would you like to know?"

"Other than I'm a superhero, I was just wondering."

"A superhero? Well than I have found my match. If you're a superhero than I'm a villain. The names Inferno, nice to meet you," I say and take my hand out to shake the guys hand. He doesn't shake it. I put my hand down. "Well that's harsh."

"I'm Jupiter, and I advise you to leave."

I grin widely. "And I advise you to leave me alone."

"Trust me, you don't want to mess with me."

"And why is that?" I ask.

Jupiter smiles and disappears. I turn around and see him behind me. I start to clap. "Well done! What else can you do?"

Jupiter lifts his hands and electricity flys out of them. I smile and lift my hands too and flames of fire come out of them.

"You really want to fight me?" I ask.

"No I don't, but you said your a villain so I guess I have to now."

I laugh and without Jupiter expecting it, I shoot flames of fire right towards him. He catches on fire and he quickly teleports and I look around furiously.

"You can't hide all day!" I shout. I turn around and I see a massive lightning bolt come towards me. I dodge it and I get tackled to the floor by Jupiter. He starts to punch and kick me. I put my hand on fire and punch Jupiter square in the jaw. He flys off and I quickly get up.

Jupiter tries to get up but is to weak. He turns around on the floor and shots a lightning bolt at me. It hits me and I get electric shocked. When the shock ends I look down but Jupiter teleports away.

That better teach him a lesson.

•Phoenix's POV•

I wake up to a loud thud. I bolt upright in my bed and look down and see Melissa fast asleep in a sleeping bag. I'm about to go back to sleep when I hear the thud again. I get out of bed and look at my balcony. I see a dark figure lying down outside it.

I slide open the door to the balcony and close it behind me so Melissa doesn't wake up. I look down to see Jupiter.

"Jupiter?"

He groans and I notice that he's burnt and bleeding. His suit is ripped and I can see blood oozing out of it. There are bruises forming all over the half of his face I can see.

"Nix, I-I-" Jupiter tries to say.

"Shh. Don't talk you'll only make the pain worse."

He coughs and blood comes out his mouth. I lift his head up so it's leaning on the fence of the balcony. I run inside my room to the bathroom to grab a first aid kit. Ever since the fire, mom has kept this just in case.

I go back to the balcony and start to put medicine on tissues and dab them on the wounds. Jupiter smiles, and it's not the nicest smile due to his teeth being covered in blood.

"Why are you smiling?" I ask.

"B-b-becau-"

"You know what, don't answer that," I say and put down the first aid kit.

I can use my power to heal him. But what if I kill him too? I have no choice, I have to do it.

I put my hands on Jupiter's stomach which is rock hard with abs. "This may hurt a bit," I say as I close my eyes.
