When you're always picked last

And no one seems to need you

How do you escape

From the pain that you knew

Once a happy daughter

Of a loving pair

But now she sits alone

Trapped in her despair

Her skin is chalky pale

Her eyes are dark with gloom

Her close friends know

That she knows how she'll meet her doom

The tool in her hands

Has one single purpose

She feels like an acrobat

Always performing in a circus

Look! It's the main attraction

The weird thing we want to see

She hates being stared at

Stuck in a world that's never free

Blaring music in her ears

Lights burning up her eyes

If someone would take pity

It would be a great surprise

Because no one thinks of her heart

How shattered it's become

They all see the bruises

But never wonder where they're from

So she pretends that she is fine

Being watched from far and near

If only they'd truly listen

For five minutes lend an ear

So she sits in her exhibit,

With no where she can go

If she dies before she can speak

Her secrets they won't know

But then someone enters in

Past the sign that say HALT! STOP!

She carefully peels back the door

And makes sure the sign not to drop

She sits by the one in the cage

The girl who will never be free

And reaches out with love

"You don't have to be lonely"

She sings her song off key

But still sings it with hope

And the girl once trapped now thinks

"Maybe I can learn to cope"

Fast forward two years

And they live in a good place

All because she's now not alone

And the darkness she don't have to face

Because one true friend

Can change the future true

Now my friend, I'm not alone

And I'm happy thanks to you
