Grace came out of the light, as the light disappeared, she heard a clock strike 3, she sees kids running from school and goes to the Bill's Candy Shop while Grace watches them through the window getting their candy

"And listen! Wonka's got a new one today" Bill the owner said to the kids

"What is it?" The kids asked

"This is called a Scrumdidilyumptious Bar" Bill said

"Scrumbibilyunctious Bar? How does he do it?" The boy said

"My dear boy, do you ask a fish how it swims?" Bill asked the boy

"No" The boy said

"Or a bird how it flies?" Bill asked

"No" The boy said

"No sirree, you don't! They do it because they were born to do it" Bill said "Just like Willy Wonka was born to be a candy man, you look like you were born to be a Wonkarer"

Grace sighed, left the store, continuing walking down the street when suddenly, Grace's stomach started to growl

"Oh great" Grace said as she sat down on the sidewalk, looking sad "now how am I going to get food?"

"Excuse me?" A boy asked and Grace gasped when she noticed him "are you okay?"

"I'll be fine" Grace said

"Where are your parents?" He asked

"I don't have parents" Grace said

"Oh, so I guess you're all alone, huh?" He asked and she nodded "well come on, I'll take you to my place, I'm sure my family won't mind. I'm Charlie Bucket by the way"

"I'm Grace" Grace introduced herself

Charlie took her hand and they went off

A while later, Charlie and Grace were standing outside the gates looking at the factory

"That's Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory" Charlie explains to Grace "he makes the most incredible candy in the whole world and if i keep saving up, I'll be able to afford a real Wonka Bar someday, maybe for my birthday. Oh well who needs a Wonka Bar anyway"

But then The Tinker came to them

"Up the airy mountain Down the rushing glen We dare not go a-hunting For fear of little men" he said "you see, nobody ever goes in... and nobody ever comes out!"

As he was leaving, Charlie and Grace looked at each other and they ran off to Charlie's house

Charlie and Grace enters the house

"Hi, everybody!" Charlie said

"Wake up!" His grandpa said "wake up, Charlie's home!"

Charlie greets his mother, then his Grandpa George, his Grandma Georgina, his Grandma Josephine and his Grandpa Joe

"Is this your supper, Grandpa?" Charlie asked

"Well, it's yours too, Charlie" Grandpa Joe said

"I'm fed up with cabbage water. It's not enough!" Charlie said

"Charlie!" Grandma Georgina said

"It's all we have" Grandma Josephine said

"What are you saying?" Grandpa Joe asked

"How about this?" Charlie said after he shows them a loaf of bread

"Charlie, where'd you get that?" Mrs. Bucket asked

"What difference does it make where he got it?" Grandpa Joe said "point is: he got it"

"It's my first payday" Charlie said

"Good for you, Charlie" Mrs. Bucket as she takes the bread "we'll have a real banquet"

"Mom? Here's what's left. You keep it. Except for this" Charlie said as he hands her some change and kept some for Grandpa Joe "from now on, I'm going to pay for your tobacco"

"No one's going to pay for it, Charlie" Grandpa Joe said "I'm giving it up"

"Come on, Dad, it's only one pipe a day" Mrs. Bucket said

"When a loaf of bread looks like a banquet, I've no right buying tobacco" Grandpa Joe said

"Go on, Grandpa. Please take it" Charlie said and Grandpa Joe took the money

"So aren't you going to introduced this little girl to us?" Grandpa Joe asked

"Oh right, everybody, this is Grace" Charlie said "I was wondering if she could stay for a while? She has no where else to go"

"What about her family?" Mrs. Bucket asked

"She doesn't have any" Charlie said

"Well hello Grace" Grandpa Joe said

"Hi Mr..." Grace said

"You can call me Grandpa Joe" Grandpa Joe said

"Really?" Grace asked and he nodded "nice to meet you, Grandpa Joe"

"So Grace, you like cabbage soup?" Mrs. Bucket asked

"Hmm, probably be better than mushroom soup" Grace said and Mrs. Buckets hands her a bowl of cabbage soup

Later at night, Charlie and Grace was with Grandpa Joe, telling him what happened today

"After I finished my paper route, me and Grace were in front of Wonka's. There was this strange man there. I think he was a tinker. was standing right behind me, looking up at the factory" Charlie explains to Grandpa Joe "just before he left he said, Nobody ever goes in, and nobody ever comes out"

"And right he was, Charlie. Not since the tragic day that Willy Wonka locked it" Grandpa Joe said

"Why'd he lock it?" Charlie asked

"Because all the other chocolate makers in the world were sending in spies--dressed as workers!--to steal Mr. Wonka's secret recipes. Especially Slugworth... oh, that Slugworth, he was the worst!" Grandpa Joe explains the story "finally Mr. Wonka shouted, I shall be ruined! Close the factory! And that's just what he did. He locked the gates and vanished completely and then suddenly, about three years later, the most amazing thing happened. The factory started working again, full blast! And more delicious candies were coming out than ever before. But the gates stayed locked so that no one, not even Mr. Slugworth, could steal them"

"But Grandpa, someone must be helping Mr. Wonka work the factory" Charlie said

"Thousands must be helping him" Grandpa Joe said

"But who? Who are they?" Grace asked

"That is the biggest mystery of them all" Grandpa Joe said
