"It's just..."
Jungkook didn't know how to voice out his uncertainty. To be honest, suddenly it felt like someone plucked him out of his daily routine and thrust him into a fairytale. In truth, it was like that.
The omega didn't know how to get used to this. He didn't know if he'd ever get used to any of this. One day he was struggling to make ends meet, worrying every passing day and night about the loan amount he had to pay Shark. Then the next, there was Mr. Park, showing up like a fairy Godmother, taking care of his loans and his life.
Suddenly, he had clothes, a roof over his head, his tuition fee paid off and all his basic necessities taken care of. When he was trying to get used to it, Jimin showed up like a Prince Charming or a knight in his shining armor. Only Jungkook knew none of this was permanent.
Well, everything depended on how Jimin felt about him in the long run. Even though Jungkook agreed to this trial based dating, he knew he was falling faster and harder. For years, he only had his father and friends to show him love.
However, the kind of affection and attention Jimin offered was different and it couldn't be compared with anyone else. Jungkook thought he'd be able to be careful and spare his feelings. But he was proven how wrong he was only a week into their dating.
Jungkook was catching feelings. Every time he addressed Jimin as his alpha, his wolf began to mean it more and more. Every time, his logical side brought it up to his mind, he always pushed it back, saying he'd think about it when the time came and for now he'd enjoy this phase.
But the reality came knocking today at the court. Not just the hearing but even the restrooms where the class divisions were too obvious, Jungkook couldn't help but feel inadequate. He wondered when Jimin would replace him and told him that he didn't feel anything more for him.
The omega wondered what would happen then. Just the thought alone was depressing. He was falling for Jimin and it would hurt him deeply if Jimin didn't return those feelings. Maybe those thoughts reflected in his face.
"Jungkook?"
"Huh?" Jungkook blinked. "Oh, I..." He rubbed the back of his neck. "It's just..."
"Whatever it is...I'm here," Mr. Park said.
His expression was sincere. Not that Jungkook ever doubted him. It was just too hard to believe everything happening in his life right now. He didn't remember a time he was this happy, except for the time he spent with his father of course, but that couldn't compare. These were different things.
Jungkook sighed. "Dad, what would happen if um..."
"If?" the alpha probed.
Jungkook fiddled with his fingers. "If Jimin hyung didn't feel the same way about me, then..." He glanced away. "I don't think you should go and threaten people like this. It could come back to harm me in some way."
A silence fell between them and Jungkook built courage to look at Mr. Park's face. What he saw eased his worries a little but also created new worries. Mr. Park's gaze was gentle on him. He was silent for a few minutes before he pulled his phone out.
"I told myself that I wouldn't meddle with your relationship, but now that's a huge concern, pup. You don't think I'd claim publicly for no reason, would you?" He unlocked his phone, going to his recent contacts.
Jungkook's eyes widened when he realized what he was about to do. "Wait, don't call him." He grabbed his wrist. "Dad, no, please...He can't know."
Mr. Park huffed. "I don't know what my silly pup has told you, but I'm here to clarify a few things. Don't worry, little one. I won't tell him anything about this conversation."
