Chapter 40

"They want me to go back to New York and testify against Aaron" Aurora said to me

We were sitting on her bed. She had calmed down and started to explain the whole story. She had her hands curled around a glass of water in her hands and her head rested on my shoulder. My head rest on top of hers and I had one arm slung over her shoulder. I could feel the soft material of her tee shirt and the sent of Rosemary and mint in her hair and I nuzzled my fave closer to her. I just wanted her close.

"That's crazy" I mumbled

"I know" she left out a breath of a laugh
"I mean, they don't do anything when he attempted to rape me and he gets off and now they try to tell me now that they can do something" she shakes her head "after I've finally started to move on with my life"

"They are all fucking assholes. All of them" I said under my breath "that fucking Aaron prick should have been put in jail the first time"

"Luke" her voice cracked "I can't see him again. I can't. I haven't seen him in almost two years" she pulled away from me as if she could isolate herself and all her problems could go away.

"I know, baby, I know" I said rubbing my hand up and down her back, comforting her "I know, it will be hard and I can't begin to imagine what you're feeling right now"

She brought her head up from her hands and fell back, her back flat on the bed. She rolled her head over and looked at me for a moment and then to the ceiling. She looked deep in thought until she finally she her shook

"I have to do it" she said, her voice affirmative "I have to help that girl, I don't want the same thing to happen to her. He will not get off this time"

"That's my girl" I smiled and when I took her hands to pull her towards me I was glad she didn't resist it and leaned into me again. She had her legs on either side of me and she wrapped her arms around my neck and I held her by the waist and she held on to me for dear life. Her fingers at the nape of my neck like I was sand that was going to fall through her fingers

"Thank you" she whispered in my ear "I love you, so much" she pulled away just enough to look me in the eyes, she held my face in her hands and rested her forehead on mine

"I wish I could take away all your pain" I said softly "I wish I could wash away every terrible memory and replace it with happy ones. So I guess I'll just have to settle with making every moment we're together enough to take those bad memories and replace them with good ones" as I spoke the curve of my lips brushed against her until I finally caught her lips with mine and gave her a soft and sweet kiss.

"Every moment with you I swear I catch my breath"

Two weeks later

"You're sure you have everything?" I asked as I Carried her suitcase down the stairs of her house

"Yes" she laughed "babe don't worry" she ruffled my hair as she walked behind me

"Sorry, sorry" I apologize as we reached the bottom step "I just wanna make sure my girl is going to be okay" I smiled and kissed her

"I'll be okay" she smiled softly

"You sure?" I asked, ducking my head down to meet her eye level

"Yeah" she nodded confidently "there's just some things I have to do"

"Well" I dropped the suitcase and wrapped my arms around her waist "I'm proud of you" and kissed her cheek and tickled her sides

"Thanks" she giggled and squirmed in my arms. She let out a satisfied sigh as she placed her hands on my board shoulders and then to the stubble on my chin "i like this" she said

"Yeah?" I chuckled

"Hmmm" she hummed "it looks good. but it does tickle when you kiss me" she giggled

"Oh really?" I smirked and then attacked her face with tiny pecks. She hit my arm playfully

"I wish you were coming with me" she sighed

"I know" I sighed, my grip around her waist grew tighter "I'm going to miss you sweetheart"

"I'm going to miss you too Lukey baby" she smiled

"Ugh stop" I groaned, putting my face in the crook of her neck

"No" she pouted "I like it"

"Babe, I man a man. That nickname is kinda taking away my masculinity here" I chuckled

"One you're not even eighteen yet" I rolled her eyes playfully "and second if you're worried about that, then I guess no more cuddles for you" she shrugged

"Not fair" I whined and put my head in her neck again, kissing where her shoulder and neck meet "fine it can stay" I told her and she laughed and said thank you

"You're so lucky I love you" I shook my head while still grinning at her

"Yeah, yeah" she rolled her eyes and then she grabbed the sides of my face and crashed her lips to mine. I lifted her up by the waist and held her tightly against me as she went up on her toes a bit. Her lips moved against mine in a urgent manner and mine equally as passionate. Her mouth molded perfectly to mine and both of us savoring the feel of each other. The pressure of her mouth on mine and the taste of her lips.

The beeping of a car horn outside caused us to break apart and both of us to groan in annoyances

"That's my parents" Aurora sighed "We have to go" she frowned as she pushed away some stray hairs from my forehead

"Okay" I said kissing her quickly "but I really don't want to stop doing this" I smirked and kissed her again

"Me either" she smiled "but I'll be back before you know it" then she grabbed her suitcase and my hand with the other and we walked outside to her car to drive to the airport
