Chapter 5: Hellfire

Start from the beginning

As he shot them, Leon noticed a hostile villager advancing towards him with a machete, but he was quick to grab his gun and shoot them, stunning them. Next, Leon landed a roundhouse kick to their head, breaking their neck and incapacitated them. After eliminating the villagers, they continued on their mission, proceeding with caution.

Leon and Jasper pushed a gate open and the trio found themselves walking across a bridge. The wooden floorboards slightly creaked beneath their feet as they walked. At the end of the scaffolding was a little hut and Leon decided to investigate. But when he walked through the doorway, a random villager pounced at him from out of the corner.

"Leon!" Ashley screamed. With Leon's quick reflexes, he pushed off the villager and swiftly grabbed his gun before firing a few rounds. The parasite emerged from the villager's head and swung its appendages aggressively towards him. Leon switched to his shot gun and shot it multiple times before the parasite lets out a scream of agony and perished.

The trio discovered a new territory as they trudged forward. The sound of rain pelting against the ground echoed in the wind, creating an eerie silence. Leon turned a corner and he spotted a giant wooden gate. The trio approached the gate and attempted to push it open, but it wouldn't budge. "Dammit," Leon cursed under his breath. "Looks like we'll need something."

As they walked deeper into the territory, a deafening silence hung in the air. They hadn't seen any villagers or any suspicious encounters so far. Jasper couldn't help but comment, "Sure is quiet."

They stepped inside a cabin and Jasper felt the hairs at the back of his neck stand up. His senses heightened and he surveyed the area for any threats, but he spotted nothing out of the ordinary yet. His attention was drawn to an open locker, the metal door slightly creaking as he approached. With a sense of curiosity, he peered inside, until an idea popped into his mind. Without hesitation, he turned to Ashley and ordered her, "Stay here."

"What?!" Ashley said, flabbergasted.

"I know it's weird, but trust me; it's only temporary. I wouldn't tell you to go in there without a valid reason," Jasper explained to her.

Ashley raised her eyebrow at the raven-haired agent with hesitation. But she went along with it and complied to his order. "OK," she replied. Ashley squeezed inside the small locker before asking, "You're gonna come back for me, right?"

"I promise, we won't be long," Jasper reassured her and Ashley nodded before closing the locker door, confined in the cramped space of the locker.

Leon raised his eyebrows at Jasper and the raven-haired told him, "It's better safe than sorry. You'll thank me later."

"I—OK," Leon replied before they delved deeper into the cabin, while Ashley stays inside the locker. The cabin was in the state of disrepair, with moldy walls and creaking floorboards. The creaking sounds echoing the cabin made Jasper feel uneasy as if they were the only ones left.

Leon spotted a particular object they needed to open the wooden gate they found. As he carefully approached the object on a nearby shelf, a sudden and alarming sound could be heard in the distance—the revving of chainsaws. Without warning, two chainsaws, dripping in blood, tore through the wooden walls, making a beeline for Leon. But before they could strike him, Leon swiftly pushed off the wall with his leg, executing an acrobatic backflip and landed gracefully on his feet.

"Great." They were met with two ghastly figures crashing through the debris they left behind, swinging their red chainsaws violently as they advanced towards the two agents. Their heads were tightly wrapped in bandages, concealing their faces. Their moans and angry screeches filled the room with horrifying energy. "Sorry, didn't know that was yours," Leon commented. "I am flattered, but neither of you are exactly my type."
