You may wish to rid your account of certain works. As AO3 aims to archive works, don't delete your fics and orphan it instead. An orphaned work gets marked as "Orphan account' instead of your user name and gets transferred to that Phantom account. I personally haven't orphaned a fic yet, but I may if I feel the need to disconnect from a work.
