In the late 1500s the streets in France were filled with lurchers, robbers, assailants and muggers. But there were also traders, fishermen and carriages with noblemen in it who thought they were way too opulent to walk on the streets the poor had roamed on.  But don't forget the beautiful women of royal blood, the seductive girls from the brothels and the cute daughters of stable keepers and kennel masters. But no charm could get the better of the beauty of a mother. No seductive simper could beat the smile of a mother who held her child for the very first time. And one of those lucky women was Maria Souveraine, a Hispanic woman who was married to Aloin Souveraine. After delivering three boys to earth she was finally granted a daughter and named her after her beloved mother, Elizabeth Beatrice. Elizabeth was a rare sight. She stood out with her dark tresses and brown eyes among her blond brothers. But it will not be her appearance, nor her wicked betrothed that will astound you. It will be her decisions that will overthrow your feelings.

Now you might think that she is just another boring noble girl stuck in an arranged marriage but I am here to tell you otherwise. Our dear Elizabeth is the worst in embroidering, attending to tea parties and everything else that is expected from a lady of noble birth. But don't be mistaken so easily. She still dresses up like a lady, wears her corsets like the cunning goody girl she is and is obedient. But that, however, doesn't hold her back from sneaking out her window at day and night. With a bottle of good wine she gets a piece of freedom from the guard Aumari in exchange when she tries to cross the garden behind their mansion. Her family swims in gold with their hearts rotten down the core.
