Chapter 19: Coming Back

"Please answer me Ashley.." he pleaded. He looks anxious and his eyes looks worried, hopeless.

"Yes." I replied sweetly. He stood up and gave me a squeezing hug, then he kissed me. All the people in the restaurant was looking at us with curiosity, some was sharing our happiness. The couple from the next table congratulated us and we both thank them.

Mario was still holding me in my waist and gave me a lingering kiss. As soon as our lips parted and we both draw breath. I reluctantly pulled myself away from him. I felt a little embarrassed, since we are now the center of attraction. But Mario seems to not bothered at all. His eyes was beaming at me.

"I love you! And I will make you the most happiest woman in the world!!" he promised before he let me go.

"First, I need my ring that will reassured that you're engaged to me, Mr. David.." I jested as I chuckled. He chuckled after.. "I know you will.." I added after as I beamed at him and took the chair back.

"We will go to the jewelry store after you finish your food, and you can pick your ring." he replied smiling happily at me. His eyes was twinkling with so much joy, matching mine. I felt so exuberant and overwhelmingly happy.

"Sure!" I exclaimed excitedly, and resumed eating. My appetite suddenly rose and not long I finish my food.

Zandros' POV

Andreas and Cassandra is in my office after I called them, the next day I arrived to Greece.

"I will be leaving to Dubai tomorrow. Did you two decided to come with me in my plane or have decided to leave in another days?" I inquired. I was leaning in my swivel chair with my hands crossed on my chest. Cassandra and Andreas was sitting on the armchairs across my desk. Both were looking at me, blankly.

"I would love to come to you, if that's fine with you. Less stress, if I had to take a local flight." Cassandra shrugged.

"Well, I had no other things to worry about in my work. I could come too. I just have to get back here, before a month, since I had to meet Mr. Lau in Hong Kong. He wanted a contract with us. He was planning to build a condo building in the lot he just acquired. And he wanted it soon." Andreas explained further as he smile widely. I know our company had been known worldwide and had been contacted by many businessman who wants to work with us.

"Great!" I replied excitedly. If this project will be successful, then it will be a start of expansion in Hong Kong. A well developed and high end country that has a growing city, and known for it's high rise buildings.

"This could be the key to expand there." Cassandra butted in grinning from ear to ear. I shook my head in agreement.

"So it's all settled then. You two are dismissed. Get ready for tomorrow. We will leave around 8 in the morning." I said dismissively.

The two stood up and then they left after saying good byes.

I was left alone and the emptiness lurking in my heart, emerged again, slowly eating my sanity. I was staring blankly in my empty, cold office, with a numb heart.

Then suddenly, my phone rang.

"Speak!" I snapped as I leaned my elbow on my desk, holding the phone close to my ear. With my other hands running frustratedly through my thick hair.

"So you're back!" Chrissy snapped without preamble.

"Yeah. What do you want?" I snapped back angrily. I know, she was off because she had a flu according to my secretary.

"I was trying to call you, but your phone was not in service. What happened to your phone?" she whined, making me feel more irritated. Can't she stopped meddling with my business just for a day?
