"(Y/N)! Hurry up! We can't miss our flight!" Mom shouts from across the hall.
"Coming Mom!" I shout back.
As I walked down the hall, mom started talking. "My daughter! High school graduate at the age of twelve! Going to a college at thirteen!" She gushed. "Aw I'm just so proud of you!" She exclaimed jumping around.
"I don't even want to go to this dumb nerd school!" I whined sarcastically.
"Ha ha ha. (Y/N), you've had this schools poster on your wall since you were eleven. You can't fool me." She recalled.
I squealed with delight. When my mom handed me my acceptance letter and full scholarship I couldn't contain my joy.
~Time Skip (I'm not lazy... I just noticed it's kinda boring.)~
"(Y/N). Wake up." My mom said sweetly.
"Huh?" I questioned, "Where am I?"
"Welcome to Sanfransokyo. Please wait for the beep to unbuckle and receive your carry on. Thank you for flying with us." The stewardess spoke kindly through the intercom.
I squealed with excitement. "Where are we staying?" I asked quietly.
"A hotel room for the first night just to make sure you're okay with everything here. If it's all too much, we can go back home, okay?"
My mom and I never had much. She was a hair stylist, but worked from home. She was a single mom too. My dad had the job, but he took my sister and left. He took the money too. He would write letters on a occasions, but when I got accepted into SFIT I knew I had to take it and not tell him. He irked me. Every single piece of him.
"- and if you decide to stay then I've arranged for you to stay with my best friend Cass, I'll join you when school starts back up. I've just got to finish up stuff back home. Okay?" She said.
"Okay." I replied. I never liked being without my mom. I guess that's why to rushed school. She had so much on her shoulders I just... I just felt like I needed to help her. "I'll miss you."
"I will too." She cooed.
Pulling me into her embrace. She plopped her head lightly on top of mine and sighed. She pecked my forehead with her lips and released the embrace.
"Well, time to go check in at the hotel!" She announced.
"Mom!" I shout "Do you have my white shoes with the black lacing?"
"No. But I have your cream shoes with the black lacing." She replied.
"Same thing!" I scoffed.
My mother gasped dramatically, "(Y/N) (M/N) (L/N)! I thought you were a prodigy! Shouldn't you know the difference between cream and white?" She said sarcastically.
"God, mom can you just help me please. I want to look nice for the meet and greet."
I stared around my suitcase and saw the perfect outfit.
"What about my (F/C) floral top and my skinny jeans." I asked.
My mom walked in from the hotel bathroom and she looked gorgeous. She had on her old blue dress that stopped mid-calf and her black heels. She had straightened her hair and parted her bangs to the side. "It sounds cute and sweet." She said whilst cupping my face in her hands, "My beautiful thirteen year old girl is growing up." She smiled nostalgically.
When I had my clothes on, mom insisted I put on makeup. That obviously wasn't happening, but she talked me into concealer and curling my lashes.
We walked to SFIT. It was a good call, on account of it being so close, and it was so beautiful outside. So quiet. Back home in Bloomside everything was cluttered and crowded. Everyone was so rude. Here, I haven't bumped into anyone.
When we got to SFIT, I was nervous and in awe. The whole school was bigger than I had ever imagined. Mom had to drag me at this point. I looked around and everyone was so... tall. I knew I'd be the only thirteen year old. Heck, I knew I'd be the only one under eighteen! I'll admit, I had some hope that there'd be some freaky science whiz chick. I walked around and talked to the people there. Professor Callaghan was there too and I managed to speak a couple sentences to him before being shoved away. He had told me that everyone had a lab already assigned. I wanted to check mine out so I ran up the stairs. So here I am now, Callaghan told me they aren't in any specific order this year. They were based on personal preference. I'm guessing that was a quiz that I took last year. It asked me about stuff I like.
I saw a Melanie Corduroy, Cassidy Lee, Tadashi Hamada, and here I am (Y/N) (L/N)! I opened the polished glass door and walked slowly inside. My view is amazing. I can see cherry blossom trees and a bird bath. I'm suddenly ordering how I want my stuff, but then I heard a door open. I ignored it. It was probably another student.
"Hi! I'm Tadashi Hamada." He said gleefully. I was startled and jumped around. The stranger looked at me weirdly. "My lab appears to be right next to yours. I thought I should introduce myself now" he said cautiously.
"Oh my gosh. Hello Tadashi Hamada! I'm (Y/N). (Y/N) (L/N). Sorry! I'm... jumpy."
"I can tell!" Tadashi said smiling. "How old are you?"
"I- I'm thirteen years old."
"Oh! That's cool! You should meet my brother Hiro, he's fourteen. Hiro graduated at thirteen and hasn't realized how awesome this school is."
"What?!" I scoffed "I was ten when I realized I needed to go here!"
"Well, maybe you should go talk to him. He's here somewhere. Anyways, what are you here for?"
I pulled my bot out of my purse and held it out. "Coding."
"Cool! Maybe you can help me with a healthcare robot I'm trying to code." He responded ecstatically. I'm guessing his phone buzzed, 'cause he pulled it out and frowned. "I have to go back and find Hiro. My Aunt Cass lost him."
I didn't say anything. I just nod and wave goodbye. He was nice, maybe he could be like my big brother. I picked my bot back up, and held it out. I sighed looking down at my phone in my other hand.
Mom: Sweetie, I'm tired. I'm gonna head back to the hotel. Love you.
This night had to come to an end. I put my phone in my purse and started towards the door. Slowly closing the glass door, then I made my way to the stairs. As I was walking I noticed a boy. He looked about my age. He had messy hair, a red t-shirt and khaki shorts. The boy was running and look like he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings. Then he slammed into me, knocking me into the ground. I figured that snapped him back to reality. He stared at me for a bit.
"Oh god." I whispered.
"Oh hi! I'm-"
"Sorry? 'Cause you should've been watching where you were going!" I retorted.
"Woah. Um... I'm sorry. Hey your bot!"
I looked around only to find it's legs smashed apart and shattered. "That was my first bot I ever coded. Look at this! You'll pay for this!"
"Hey, I said I was sorry!" He announced.
"Sorry can't fix this. Sorry doesn't fix anything!" I shouted.
He extended his hand out and I took it, but I pulled him down with me. He tumbled down pulling me down with him. We fell all the way down the stairs (now on the second floor.). It was nonstop laughter. By the time we were done tumbling, the boy had landed on top of me. Our foreheads touching and noses against each other. I took my lips and pressed them against his now red cheeks. I don't know why.
"I'm still gonna get revenge." I whispered in his ear, then I slid out from under him. Disappearing.
My lips still heated from kissing his cheek. My hand still burning from holding his. As I walked quickly to the hotel, my mind was racing. I couldn't stop thinking about him. I don't even know who he his.
Do I like him? No! No! Of course not!
