And isn't it just so pretty to think
All along there was some
Invisible string
Tying you to me?

I watched as Draco fell one more time. I pulled myself off to the side, and Theo did the same looking back at out blond friend. It's rather surprising that Draco can't seem to stay upright. Both him and Theo used to ski every winter before we started school. I only joined them once and I was still better than Draco. Theo and I stood watching Draco struggle to snap his ski back into place. Theo finally groaned and unclipped his skis climbing up the hill. Draco looked fed up by the time Theo reached him and begrudgingly took the Theo's hand as he situated himself.

We started down the slopes once more. Theo slid down the mountain doing tricks and such. I rolled my eyes, laughing as the cold air hit my face. I plowed through the powder on Theo's trail. Draco was right behind me as we filed back into the ski lift. Time and time again we cycled through the slopes, enjoying each others company, much like we did when we were kids. There was something so freeing about being on the mountains.

Around noon we were all huddled in the cafe along with the many skiers who chose to make their way to the slopes on this rather beautiful day. Theo was next to me and Draco was across from us picking at his fries, waiting for the rest of our food to be prepared. The restaurant was packed and their were even people standing waiting for their food. Some were pushing past us hoping for an empty seat but they had little luck. Theo groaned looking over at the stressed out staff and laid his head on the table. Right then, someone pushed past us nearly knocking me into Theo.

"Hey!" I yelled and a blond boy turned around.

"Shit, my bad, hon," he said with a grin. "You're really pretty by the way." My eyes widened slightly and I felt Theo shift.

"Wrong answer," Theo told him through gritted teeth.

"Can I not talk to the pretty girl?"

"The pretty girl doesn't want to talk to you," Theo's voice was reaching a certain point of danger and I looked at Draco who also seemed to pick up on the energy.

"Well, the pretty girl didn't say that," the boy countered and I felt Theo move once more. I quickly put my hand in his interlacing our fingers.

"The pretty girl was hoping we wouldn't have to waste her breath telling you she wasn't interested," I said not even bothering to look up at him. I knew Theo was smirking next to me. The boy grumbled under his breath and made his way through the crowd.

"That was really hot," Theo admitted giving me his infamous bedroom eyes. I rolled my eyes and luckily a waitress came with our food just then. I stuffed my face with my lunch trying to ignore Theo's words that were now ringing through my mind. We spent the next hour chatting in the cafeteria, finally getting up in the mid afternoon. As soon as we stood, a family of four planted themselves in our seats. I followed my boys out of the cafeteria and back into the ski lifts.

As the afternoon progressed, the number of skiers increased. I groaned at the extended lines and stood behind Theo. I played with the soft snow as him and Draco fell into a comfortable conversation.

Around 4:00 that afternoon the ski lifts began to close and the skiers began to dwindle. We took the empty slopes as a final opportunity to ski down a sparse mountainside. The sunset was a gorgeous wash of pinks and oranges as we made our final run for the day. I smiled at the moment, hoping to cherish it.
