Jimin nodded, his expression clearing. "Thank you, Attorney Kim. I didn't know I needed this."
"Anytime." Attorney Kim checked the time on his watch and stood. "I have to go now. Thank you for the lunch, Jimin. We came here for our anniversary last year and couldn't get time after that. He wouldn't stop raving about the food and I'm glad I could bring him here today. All thanks to you."
Jimin stood, extending his hand to the attorney to shake. "Thank you for taking some time off for this. I'll keep what you said in mind."
"Our court date is coming up. I'll be in touch." They shook hands and Attorney Kim squeezed his hand gently. "You got this. Show him that you're sincere. I have a feeling that a bond has already formed between you both. I can see it in the way you talk about him. Nurture it."
"I will," he replied. "Thanks hyung."
Jimin walked him out to where his mate and pup were waiting. He thanked them and sent them off with a smile. His heart felt lighter. There was no doubt in his mind anymore. The attorney was right. Every relationship required work and it wasn't an easy walk in the park.
Even now, his dad kept a day aside in a week for his mom. That day his dad refused to look at anything work related unless something was on fire and spent time with his mom. They still argued but his dad said it's a healthy way of relationship. While he understood none of it, Jimin knew he'd get there when the time came. For now, he at least had the clarity he desired.
He watched as Attorney Kim's car pulled away from the driveway. His pup excitedly waved at Jimin. A purebred alpha pup, he noted. Nature worked in different ways.
So it is possible. The proof was right in front of his eyes. I don't have to hold back anymore.
