"Then that's settled." Attorney Kim beamed.
"You make it sound so simple," Jimin mumbled.
"Is it not?" The attorney's smile did not waver.
"That's why I'm here."
Attorney Kim reached for water. "Jimin-ssi, you don't have to make this complicated. Just look at the things as they are. You like this omega and that's all there is to it."
"Just Jimin please. And I have a lot of questions. What happens if it's too much? You would know better than anyone. Marriage life is more than just getting acquainted." Jimin sighed and crossed his legs.
There was no point in beating around the bush. First and foremost Attorney Kim was bound by client confidentiality. This could be considered as his client's needs right?
"I'll be honest with you. Our ruts are intense and our wolves are insatiable. Regular omegas are more delicate than the purebred ones. How could they even handle us?" he asked. "Please be honest. I cannot lead him on if there's no future for us."
Attorney Kim laughed out loud. The sound of his laughter echoed around the small room. "Call me hyung," he said. "You're worrying for nothing, Jimin." He went back to food as if Jimin wasn't discussing his life crisis with him. Maybe it wasn't a crisis. "When you care for someone deeply, you can't hurt him, not even by accident."
That made sense. "How did you manage?" Jimin had to know everything. "Tell me how you both met and fell in love."
Attorney Kim smiled. "We met in college. It wasn't love at first sight. He was there on scholarship and got ridiculed a lot for his status. Like you, I was attracted to his strength. No matter what, every day he'd come back with his head held up, back straight. And he was the top of our class." There was admiration in his voice. "At first, he rejected my advances but I was persistent. I'd bring him courting gifts and I was sincere. Others laughed at me and would tell me to find someone better, but I already found the better one. I just had to make him see it. Eventually, he gave in and here we are. Twelve years and counting. When you love someone, Jimin, you truly care for them. Their wellness becomes your priority. Their happiness becomes yours. You'd do anything to see them smile." He sat back, putting down the cutlery to wipe his mouth with a napkin. "Your wolf will adjust to accommodate your mate's needs."
"I thought it was rare," Jimin mumbled, processing all the information. He made it sound so easy but they were together for twelve years. He could tell it wasn't as easy as it sounded. They must have worked really hard to get there. "It sounds complicated."
"It is complicated if you make it complicated." Attorney Kim smiled. "Every relationship needs work. You learn something new every day. You make mistakes. You fight and you laugh together. It's all about powering through it, willing to spend the good and bad days with your mate no matter which direction you're headed."
Jimin nodded in understanding.
"To answer your questions about ruts and heats, once you mate and your wolves bind themselves to each other, your bodies will adapt to fulfill each other's needs physically and emotionally. The experience might differ from one pair to another but you'll get there with time, patience and hard work," Attorney Kim continued.
Jimin understood and he found a new found assurance.
"Just remember, it's a problem only if you think it is a problem," Attorney Kim added. "Approach this as you would approach any other relationship with a purebred wolf. Their natural status requires some adjustments and sacrifices, but nothing is impossible. Emotions and feelings are the same to everyone just like the color of our blood. Follow your heart."
