As I look back from my freshman year to my senior, I don't know how my life could change so much in just one day. My name Tyson Samantha Rain but my family and friends call me Ty. I don't really have friends, my older brother and his friends always scare everyone off. So it's just mostly my family. I am only 15 years old and high school starts in two days.
Okay, let's get on with my interesting life story.
The cool crisp air was on my face. The fall morning was a perfect day for a run in the park. I was jogging in my normal outfit, sweat pants and a baggy sweat shirt, my hair is in a french braid. My brother taught me that exercise will help me control my anger and adrenaline. When I get to the park, I slow myself and watch the four football player mess around. I wish I could play. They were passing the ball, from the corner of my eye I can see the ball coming at me. My reflexes get the best of me when I jump in the air to catch the ball. The boys saw that or they wouldn't have been staring at me with wide eyes. That's right I have a love for football.
I suddenly hear a shout from the largest one, I don't know their names, due to them being older than me.
"Yo, where did you learn how to play like that?" The really big guy asks. What should I do they obviously don't know I'm a girl with my hood covering my face. I quickly change my voice to how a guy would sound.
"Dudes, my brother taught me." They all stared in amazement. I quickly ducked away to get the hell out of that place but one of them saw me so they pulled me back.
"Where do you think you are going! I need your name and you number so I can text you when our schools practice is!" the other one yelled into my face and pulled out his phone.
"Ty Rain, and (please note this is not a real number) 618-829-1245" I'm nut sure why I gave him my number but if I want to play I will keep my 'boyish' identity a secret.
--Tuesday--
The first day was Monday, it wasn't bad, keeping my head down, no one noticed me. Classes were fine, the teachers did not want to be there as much as we didn't want to be there. Our school is only known for one thing...Football. That's right, my brother and his graduating class took us to state and won for the first time ever. We haven't lost a single year in a row since then...7 years later, here I am.
I just got a text from the boy I gave my number too.
Unknown: Hey, it's Xander. Practice after school, 3:00- 6:00. Coach wants to meet you.
Not replying I, thinking.... I am so screwed.
--end of school day--
Trying to take my time, trying to think of ways to get out of this mess. People would be horrified if they found out I were a girl. It's unheard of for a girl to play a "mans sport". They think we should just be sitting on the side lines waving pom poms in the air. I come to the stop I've been dreading, the girls locker room.
As I make my way out of the locker room,I start to head to the field. I am in full pads, helmet and everything. 'Our' first game is this Friday and I'm not even sure if I am on the team. But here goes nothing. As I walk out of the field I can see two coaches and Xan ( I think) talking.
"Yo Ty, over here I want you to meet Coach Reed"
That last name sounds like my brother's old friends. James but I called him Jamie.
As I am walking over to the coach, I soon realize it is James. Buff up Ty you can do it. As soon as I get there Coach Reed asks "Got a name kid?"
I quickly respond back, "Ty Rain, sir."
"Do you happen to know a Carson Rain?" He asked the one question I was hoping he wouldn't. I could also see him eyeing me and my small figure.
"No I do not." I know it is a lie but I can't have James figuring that out.
With all that being said I made the team. Oh, and practice went fine.
