"i wonder what this assembly is for, parker." stella sat next to him in the school auditorium, all students having been called out of class for a surprise meeting.
the principal walked onstage and started speaking to the students, a cop standing in the corner beside her.
"now, i'm sure you're all wondering why i've brought you here," she said. "yesterday, a custodian who will remain unnamed was cleaning the boys bathroom right beside the auditorium and found a loaded gun in the trash."
panic ate at parker's chest, worry that they knew he had brought that thing with him yesterday.
"i would like for the owner of this gun to come directly to me this afternoon, or there will be consequences for everyone."
