Luffy even shared with her what happened blow for blow on Marine Ford and how he'd almost saved Ace. Nami just held Luffy, she wanted to take that pain away. Luffy had family but not like Ace.
"I'm so sorry Luffy." Nami tells him
"It's okay." Luffy somehow smiles "I'm never losing anyone I love ever again." He says

Nami didn't know what to do but tug on Luffy's shirt getting him to kiss her.
They stayed up in the crows nest alittle longer until they decided it was time for bed. Wrapping Nami up in one rubber arm Luffy was able to hop down and safely put them on the ground.
"Well I guess this is, good night." Luffy smiles holding Nami's hand just outside the women's room
"One sec Luffy." Nami doesn't let go of his hand as she opens the door to the women's room checking for Robin or Chopper since he would occasionally sleep in their room if the guys were annoying him.
"Huh what's going on?" Luffy asks
"Robin's not in the women's room." Nami tells Luffy
"Okay? She's probably in the survey deck reading, do you want me to go get her?" Luffy asks
"No I don't want you to fetch Robin...Luffy it's been two years." Nami bites her bottom lip
"Nami I'm sorry I'm having a hard time getting what you mean." Luffy looks down
"It's okay." Nami smiles, normally she'd scold him for not understanding but that was before she knew that this sweet, generous and spirited man was in love with her. "Luffy I want you to sleep in my bed tonight." She tried to drop a hint
"Won't that be cramped?" Luffy squints
"Not if you're on top of me." Nami squeezes his hand blushing
"Ohhh." Luffy's mouth pulled into a big smile "Nami sometimes you have to just have to be really forward with me, okay." His cheeks turned pink
