"Miku, are you okay?" Rin asked slowly as she looked up at her friend in confusion and concern. "You look...pissed." Gumi nodded along with Rin as she was also a bit confused by Miku's behavior.
Tonight was one of their annual parties, where all singers would come together and enjoy themselves before their schedules filled up again. This year, it was hosted at the Cryptoloid's huge residence.
Miku fumed in annoyance as she gripped her cup tightly. However, she held a fake smile on her face. "Of course, I'm okay, Rin! Isn't this party fun? Everyone is laughing and dancing, which is great!" Miku didn't even turn her head as she spoke because her eyes were trained on two certain people who were just a few feet away.
She watched as Luka covered her mouth as she laughed softly at whatever Gakupo had said to her. The purple-haired singer continued to smirk as he draped his arm around Luka, causing Miku to nearly crush her cup. Gakupo and Luka were like best friends but it was clear that Gakupo wanted more than that.
Gumi followed her gaze and put the pieces together as she smirked. "Miku, do you have a crush on Luka?" She asked with a knowing tone in her voice.
Rin tilted her head at Gumi before looking at where Miku's attention was. She gasped in shock as as a giant smile appeared on her face "Oh my god! You do, don't you?" She shouted happily.
Miku turned beet red as she finally turned her head towards her two friends and shushed them loudly. "S-Shut up!" She exclaimed as she nearly spilled her drink in her hand. She looked back at Luka, only to make eye contact with the pink-haired idol. She had a small smile on her face but her eyes held a bit of confusion and concern. It was almost as if she heard Miku yelling from where she was.
Miku bit her cheek as she turned her head back in a panic. "Um..."
Gumi gave her a knowing look while Rin was bouncing on her feet. Before either of them could say anything, Miku glared at them with a blush. "I'm not having this discussion here or anytime soon. So forget it!"
"So you do like her," Gumi said in a teasing tone as she nudged Miku's arm, ignoring Miku's words. "How long?"
"I should have known! Now it all makes sense," Rin beamed with joy for her friend. "You've been like this every time Gakupo visits. You've been-"
"I'm not jealous!" Miku exclaimed again as she continued to blush. She was jealous. "I could care less that Gakupo visits Luka almost every weekend."
Gumi nudged Rin as she looked behind Miku, causing Rin to nervously smile. "Uh, Miku-"
Miku wasn't done as she continued to ramble. "He won't even be able to come over and visit next weekend because I plan to ask Luka out on a date like I've been trying to do for months!" Miku huffed as she looked at her friends, who had a funny look on their faces. "What?"
There was a small tap on her shoulder, causing her to freeze in place. She didn't need to turn around. Rin and Gumi's expressions said it all. Miku felt the tip of her ears burn as she didn't know what to say.
"Miku...please turn around. It's okay."
Luka's soothing and gentle voice made Miku's heart race slightly but she also felt the dread sinking in. With a sigh, she turned around and looked up at the slightly taller idol. "H-Hey, Luka..." Miku said quietly as she avoided eye contact with the woman.
Luka looked a bit concerned as she tilted her head at the teal-haired idol. She also had a small hint of blush on her cheeks. "Are you okay? I heard you yelling over the music..." She asked softly as she took a glance at Gumi and Rin, who suddenly found interest in their drinks in hand
