[He/ Him POV]

(Y/N) sat on the wooden dock taking in the warm and sweet air of Gusu.

It was finally time. He worked like a madman in order to get recognition, constantly reading, meditating, and even running around helping nearby villages in order to practice his spiritual and sword techniques. It had been a couple months now since he first took shelter in the shrine, which quickly grew attention, and soon people began to flock around curious as to who it was for.

Of course, he decided to honor the shrine for the crown prince, he may not exist in this world but at least he, himself, will always be remembered of his most beloved book. He wasn't planning on forgetting that anytime soon, even if the supposed grandmaster just happened to be snoozing in an wooden boat just beside him.

He looked over at the boy in the boat, still not believing the coincidental meeting. He was unable to dwell on his thoughts for long when a beautiful voice rang out, "A-Xian!"

(Y/N) turned to spot the well-known beauty of Yunmeng, Jiang Yanli. Despite never reading the novel, he could definitely recite a fair bit just due to his friends alone. He couldn't get them to shut up even for a split second, but they never really spoke about Yanli and it was quite surprising.
Her skin was fair and her smile warmed the heart. Her gentle eyes, which gazed over the two boys could make a heart stop, not a single trace of imperfection could be found. Overall everything about her screams soft and angelic, she was truly beautiful both inside and out.

His eyes flicked over to the male who stood by her.

If the Lan Clan was known for handsome and good-looking men, he was going to be blushing, kicking his feet and twirling his hair like a high school girl. Jiang Cheng wasn't ugly by any means, in fact quite the opposite. From the little time (Y/N) knew the three, he could safely say Jiang Cheng could get in his pants any day of the week.
No permission needed, if Jiang Cheng asked him to bark, WOOF WOOF, you know?

Shaking away his perverted thoughts he watched Yanli continue to call out.

"A-Xian!" She was met with no movement from the boy. After a few more times, Jiang Cheng tried his luck.

"I'll release the dog if you don't get up!"

Oh, well, would you look at that. The once sleeping boy sprung up in fear, his voice barely a whisper, "Dog.."

There was light laughing from the fellow clan members, (Y/N) couldn't help but let out a small laugh too. Wuxian turned to look over his shoulder towards his two siblings, to see Yanli lightly smack Jiang Cheng's arm while he laughed, even though she couldn't help but laugh as well.

"Don't make fun of A-Xian," She spoke.

Wuxian took a moment before smiling, now realising it was a playful joke, "You're here!"
