she patted me gently.
The kind of little tap on the shoulder that we give to children as if to let you know of imminent danger, but that you are not of legal age to worry about it.
Speaking of legality, I'm 16, the only legal thing I enjoy here is being alive. I am not allowed to go out, let alone say my name. And to top it all off, my mother suspects me of having been born with some sort of superhuman ability in relation to water, fresh or salt. She's the only one who thinks that though.
My father hadn't come back since yesterday when he was called urgently to the office. I could no longer ask him who had brought me back yesterday. That would mean I admit to leaving the house after him.
Mom suddenly turned around and looked at me.

"the police brought you back. a student found you near the pantheon it seems,. You can avoid frequenting this place please"

A student, i think. it's probably Khelohan.
His name resonates on my whole body as call from afar. I was aware of the effect he had on me but I didn't know why. And after seeing him get into his convertible this morning, the girls from the campus were lining up, including one in particular: Danayah who I had known since elementary school. I had chased away all desires to be close to him. But with a new element, my curious little finger tells me that he will be in this place. the same one from last time.
I hadn't waited until 9pm. I decided to come back to the place.

"just to get my shoes back" I said to myself.

False excuse. Because in 24 hours in a country as poor as ours, there was no way for shoes costing 10,000 a pair to still be in the same place. Unless the sea sends them back to me itself. she seemed to obey my demands when she wanted to.

" Send me back my tennis shoes" I whispered looking towards the direction of the expanse of salt water all glittering with the reflection of a bluish moon to test my skill. but after repeated attempts nothing happens. I had no results.
I'm not what my mom said.
