Prologue
I just wanted to see what the rock was. I wasn't planning ahead, or thinking of any consequences that it might beget- obviously- I just happened to be a very curious person. By now I should know when to shut myself up and the mess that always seems to come from my curiosity. I guess I really am like a cat, as my cousin says, and that one day my curiosity might be the thing that gets me killed.
Honestly, who could blame me though? The rune was just sitting there, out in the open, with the sunlight streaming in on it just enough for it to shine. It seemed a bit ethereal in the quietness of the forests. It was like it was calling out to me. It would've captured anyone's attention. Right?
Maybe it does seem a bit too perfect now that I think about it... Oh, well. I'm in this now, and I can't turn back. My life forever changed by this one mistake. Great.
