"He's coming over here" jules says standing up and walking over to him before he can reach Gracie, Gracie hears jules talking to him but can't hear what she's saying she can see him practically begging her to let him talk to Gracie and eventually she gives in
The tears Gracie tried so hard to hold back have broken free and at this point are silently falling down her face
"Hi Gracie" Jack says and she sniffles at him
"Hi Jack" she sobs, he looks at her his heart breaking seeing her so upset "i told you she's drank too much for this conversation, she's an emotional drunk"
"I remember" Jack smiles at the memory of the two of them secretly getting drunk the night of homecoming and him comforting her as she cried over the episode of criminal minds about Hotchs wife. His smile quickly replaced by a frown when he remembers Gracie hasn't forgiven him yet
"Gracie i am so sorry, i miss you so much" Jack says grabbing her hand "i know Jack and I miss you so much too but you made me so sad" she says crying at him and his heart breaks again knowing he caused her to be so sad
"Jack I think you should leave" Jules says but he doesn't let go of Gracie's hand "i know but it's my last chance, i have to go back to New Jersey tomorrow afternoon"
"I don't want you to go again" Gracie cries and he looks surprised "you don't?" She shakes her head
"Don't listen to her" Jules says "sober Gracie doesn't think that" i nod and remember what Gracie had said in her texts and how her family had been so angry at him, even Luke and Quinn said she only ever talked bad about him
"I do think that I just don't say it" Gracie says and Jack looks at her with a bit of hope in his eyes making Jules scoff "oh no" Gracie says making jack and Jules look up concerned
"I think I'm- i don't feel well" she looks green and after a second she barfs all over the floor causing Jules to jump off her seat in surprise, Gracie just missing her by centimetres
Jack walks over grabbing Gracie and helping her up so she doesn't fall, walking her to the bathroom where she pukes up the rest of her lunch from earlier
Jack hovers behind her in the bathroom, holding back her hair and rubbing comforting circles on her back as she cries and throws up
She hears Jules come in but Jack says he has everything under control so she can go wait outside
After she's done she hugs him and he lets her even though she has sick on her top, he wipes her mouth with a paper towel and gets her a glass of water from the bar. Offering to drive her home which she says yes to since both her and Jules had been drinking
Jules decided to stay at the pub a bit longer saying she'd get an Uber home, she had met some attractive frat boys who had offered to buy her some drinks and she couldn't say no
Jack thought that was a bit of a stupid idea but Gracie explained that one of the frat boys was Jules friend from college so she would be fine
When they got back to Gracie's apartment Jack walked her to the bathroom where she got changed and brushed her teeth after pretty much puking up all the drink in her body she was basically sober at the point
When she left the bathroom and walked into her room Jack was making her bed and he had left painkillers and a glass of water for her saying something about beating the hangover before it happens
Gracie mumbled a thank you before climbing into bed, Jack said he would go sleep on the sofa in the living room but Gracie stopped him on his way out
"Jacky please stay with me" she says reaching a arm out towards hum
"I don't think sober Gracie would like that" Jack smiles at her sadly
"I pretty much am sober Gracie" she rolls her eyes "we have the same thoughts I'm just brave enough to say them"
"Are you sure?" He asks walking over to the bed, he knew it was a bad idea he just wasn't strong enough to say no three times
He crawled into the bed behind her and put his arms around her body pulling her in close beside him
"I missed you" she whispers to him
"I missed you more" he whispered back
