Puppet looked between the two students. "Your teacher is in a bit of a dangerous situation at the moment," she said.
"Let him go!" Midoriya yelled.
"You do realize that telling me to let him go doesn't do anything right?" Puppet asked boredly. Her eyes narrowed to form a challenging expression. "Also, you might want to be mindful of your actions, someone could get hurt. You don't want that do you, heroes?"
Realizing what could occur, Eraser Head got a short adrenaline spike. He completely disregarded the pain in his neck and started to struggle against Puppet's hold. He started yelling at her, trying to get her to focus on him rather than Midoriya and Asui. "Puppet! Puppet stop! Leave them out of this!"
He let out a quiet yelp of pain as the amount of pressure on his neck abruptly increased to a dangerous level. The pressure forced him to still and quiet, his throat seizing up. He grit his teeth and clenched his eyes shut as they began to water in response to the intense pain.
He opened his eyes slightly so that he was squinting. "Both of you, leave," he managed to croak out towards the two teens.
"We can't leave you!" Midoriya quickly protested. "We won't!"
The boy had a determined gleam in his eyes, and that was enough to tell the teacher that there was no swaying him.
Please, Midoriya, have some sense! Eraser Head silently pleaded. Stand down!
"I said"—the air around Midoriya crackled with green electricity as he activated his quirk—"let him go!"
In an instant, Midoriya jumped into action. With one swift movement, he was right in front of Puppet. Surprised by his speed, she let go of Eraser Head and jumped back to avoid getting hit, barely managing to dodge.
The pro hero stayed lying on the ground where he was left. He was very aware that in his current state, he was no more than a liability to his two students. He should be the one protecting them, but in this situation, it was the other way around.
He rolled his neck around, trying to get rid of the pain that resided from the harsh hold that Puppet had had on him. It did little to help. It would've been useful if he was able to use his hands to try and massage the pain away, but they were still locked tight behind his back by Puppet's strings. At the moment, he could only watch the fight play out.
Eraser Head looked around, trying to locate Asui. She had used a newer aspect of her quirk, camouflage, which allowed her to disappear into her surroundings.
His questions were answered as he felt a large and gentle hand rest on his arm. When he looked up, he saw the faint outline of Asui's figure.
Midoriya kept Puppet occupied and at bay while Asui worked on freeing Eraser Head. It proved to be harder than initially thought, Puppet's strings being hard for the amphibious teen to break without something sharp.
After a minute, one of Puppet's throwing knives sliced through the air right towards Asui.
"Tsu!! Watch out!" Midoriya called to alert her.
Asui quickly jumped away from Eraser Head and dodged the knife, which would have undoubtedly hit her otherwise. The knife instead impaled the ground beside the teacher.
Before anything more could happen, Puppet fled. She ran from Midoriya, through the trees and into the shadows provided by the canopy. And he let her go, opting to assist his teacher instead.
Asui pulled Puppet's blade from the earth and used it to cut the strings that holding Eraser Head's hands behind his back.
He reached his hand up and rubbed his neck to ease the pain. His thoughts locked onto the threat at hand: Puppet. He looked at where she had disappeared, preparing to get up and chase after her. But the villain had done more damage to him than he'd thought; once he'd gotten up, he was only able to get a few yards before collapsing back down from a sudden wave of lightheadedness.
"Ribbit, Mr. Aizawa are you okay? What's wrong?" Asui ran up and tried to assist by looping his left arm over her shoulder.
"I'm fine," he assured, "just a bit lightheaded."
Midoriya came running up to the other side of the pro hero and draped his other arm around his neck. Together, he and Asui hoisted him up off the ground, helping him balance on his own two feet. Once he felt steady enough, he pulled his arms away from them, instead using a nearby tree to support himself.
"What did she want with you?" Midoriya asked.
"To torment me," the erasure hero replied truthfully. He looked between them. "Where is the rest of the class? Are you all safe?"
"A lot of us went back by the bus, ribbit," Asui answered.
"Then that's where we're going."
