"Winnie, your time has come," Nico said. Will shook his head sadly and Nico looked at me worriedly. I really didn't understand it at all. 'Time for what!?' I squeaked. Will pulled my arm. "Come in and Nico and I will explain everything," he said. I crawled along the purple carpet and sat next to Will on my air mattress. "You are a half-blood," Nico said. Carefully asking questions, I found out what a half-blood was. I shivered and started breathing irregularly. "Winnie!" Will shouted, shaking me. I pressed my hands to my ears. 'WINNIE!' Will shouted. He pulled my hands away. I looked at him like that for probably three minutes until I felt dizzy. "You can breathe!" Will said angrily. I dropped my head against Will's shoulder. 'I can not believe it!' I said hoarsely. I felt someone put a hand on my back. I looked up and looked straight into Nico's dark eyes. "I didn't believe it at first either," he said. I shivered and looked at the two boys. "But does that mean Will isn't my brother?" I asked in a shaking voice. "He's like your half-brother," Nico said to reassure me. Will ran his hands through my pink hair. "Are you staying here, Nico?" Will asked. "If I don't bother you," Nico said. Will laughed. "Shut up you!" Nico growled. "What do you mean, grumpy little ball of darkness?" Will laughed even louder. "You...You Half Divine Care Bear!" Nico snapped. 'You two don't like teenagers,' I sighed. "Your sister is right," Nico said. "Thank you," I said. "Of course your highness or Pinkness?" Nico chuckled as he tried to bow on his knees. I pushed him over and he fell against a yellow carpet. Will started tickling me and I screamed. 'What is this?' Nico asked. In his hand he held an old box. 'That is nothing!' I snapped. "Then may I know what's in it?" Nico asked. 'No!' I growled. "So it's a thing?" Nico said. Will tried to soothe me but I pushed his hands off my back. 'Go ahead!' I snorted. Nico slid the lid off. He pulled out a crumpled photo that was curled at the corner as if it had been wet many times. 'What is this?' he asked. "that's our older brother" Will said. "Crow is dead," I said dully. 'Died. Fell off a mountain.' My voice cracked. "Sorry," Nico said. "Take the rest out too," I said scornfully. "No, that's not necessary," Nico said. 'Do it!' I snapped. Nico took out more photos, A bracelet and an old dried rose. "Do you still have it?" Will asked. "Yes. You not?" I said. "I didn't want him," Will said. 'Why?' Nico asked. 'That rose comes from a wreath that the mayor sent. Crow didn't like attention, so when everyone was gone we took the wreath away. Our mother told us to bring a rose," Will explained. "And you didn't want a rose?" Nico asked. 'I gave the rose to the cat! I was eight okay?' Will said. I felt how upset he was about it. "Would you like to close the box again?" I asked. Nico put the things in it. I saw him looking at the bracelet. "I'm just going to feed the cats, okay?" Will said. I noticed that he wanted to be alone for a while. There was an awkward silence when he was gone. Nico put the box back and sat next to me. I saw that he had Crow's gold bracelet in his hand. He took my hand and slipped the bracelet onto my wrist. "You look beutiful," Nico said. 'Do you think?' I asked softly. Nico nodded. "Are you afraid of me?" he asked me. Oh, Sugar Honey Icea Thea! He noticed that I looked away when he looked at me. "No," I said. "Then just look at me," Nico said, almost pleadingly. I felt my hair slide in front of my face and I looked down at my hands. They were shaking. I looked at Nico through the curtain of long pink hair. "I'm just not used to talking about Crow much," I said. "Do you want that?" Nico asked. "I don't know," I said. "Because you know, I am there for you in the camp and now too," Nico said. 'Rather not. "I've learned that ties are easily broken," I said. "My father is Hades," Nico said sharply. "I don't blame you or your father, I understand, but death always seems to be nipping at my heels, taking away everything I care about. My first pony, Crow, my old boyfriend and my stepfather," I said. "And you don't talk about it," Nico said. "That's not necessary, I'm not sad," I said. "You do, but you put it away and it gnaws at you," Nico said. I tucked my hair behind my ears. "Shall we see where Will is?" I asked. Nico nodded. together we crawl to the stairs. "There you are!" my mother said. I could tell she had been crying. Will sat next to her on the couch, he had certainly told her about Camp Half-Blood. "Are you going to eat and sleep?" my mother asked Nico. "Gladly," Nico said. I looked at Will and he looked away. I saw that his eyes were red and that he quickly wiped away a tear. "Come on Willie!" I said. Will smiled and let me pull him up. 'What shall we do?' I asked. Will shrugged. "Will, the air mattress from...," my mother stopped and looked at Will. 'He's next to my bed. Then you can make a place for Nico with you,' my mother said sharply. We climbed up again. I pushed away a tent flap and dragged away my stepfather's deflated air mattress. 'A little help please!' I supported. Nico carefully shuffled past me. His arm touched mine and I felt his coldness coming towards me. Together we dragged the air mattress to the carpets where Will was busy creating a spot. "If we want to get out, we almost have to crawl over Winnie, but it fits," Nico said when we had inflated the air mattress. Will saw that I looked very worried. "We'll switch places," he said to me. While we were dragging rugs and bedding, I got stuck in Nico's black duvet that he had achieved with shadow traveling! Will also threw my pillow at me and I stumbled. My own bedding ended up on my head and I panicked. Suddenly I felt something cold against my arm. 'Got you!' Nico laughed. Will started laughing and I threw a pillow at his head. I heard a plaintive squeak as I rolled over onto Will. 'Hi!' he said as my nose touched his. I tried to get up but I was completely twisted in a duvet and Will tried to get up too. Nico didn't help either because he lay on the floor screaming with laughter. I pushed up and dug my elbows into Will's ribcage. I rolled on to the next air mattress. My head hit the ground. "Ouch!" I groaned. The room shifted around me and Will approached me worriedly. 'Everything fine?' he asked. I tried to nod, but it hurt. "Don't move, that's a lot better," Will said. I tried to shake my head, but that hurt too. 'We are going to eat!' I heard my mother shout. "Come on, I'll help you down," Will said. The world turned when I stood up. "Ouch Will, that's not really possible, wait a minute!" I groaned. Nico looked at Will and me worriedly. 'Mom is really not going to like this. It's better if we go down first," Will said. I walked down the stairs with Will. 'What's up with you?' my mother asked. 'I say so often, don't behave like a clumsy dog! That's something for boys!' she snapped at me. I felt myself getting angry. Still, I nodded. 'And where is Nico?' my mother asked. 'Here I am!' Nico said. We sat down at the table and grabbed a slice of pizza. I saw Nico's face shine. 'What?' I asked. "Nothing, I just find it funny to see how Americans try to make Italian pizza," Nico laughed. I had no idea what this guy was talking about. We ate our pizza in silence. "I'm still going to the disco," my mother sighed. I sighed softly. "Can we watch a movie?" Will asked. "I hope I get some money, but for now I'm just happy to have some food," my mother said. I felt Nico's eyes on me. "We're going upstairs," Will said. He nudged me and pointed to the wall rack. I ran my hand over my guitar, but grabbed my violin anyway. Will grabbed his guitar and we followed Nico. 'Idea?' I asked Will. 'hmmm.....Blame?' Will muttered. Nico looked at us. Very carefully I placed my bow on my violin. Will tuned his guitar and cleared his throat. I accompanied him with my violin and closed my eyes. I heard exactly what Will was doing and as his voice echoed through the camper I calmed down and relaxed more. I stood as high as I could and felt like I was somewhere completely different. When I opened my eyes I saw Will looking at me and I stopped. Nico pointed to something above my head. "Your father is very early," he said. A golden lyre floated above my head. Will tried to say something. Finally he pushed his guitar away and walked towards me. I thought he was angry. On the contrary, he threw his arms around me. "You have no idea how happy I am!" he said.
