"Who are we looking for?" a masculine voice asked. "Which member?"

"Edgeshot said to look for Puppet Master. He said she was blown this way," replied a feminine voice. "Eraser Head said to be careful too, she's agile and powerful."

So Eraser is part of this, Puppet thought to herself.

"How many of us are looking for her?" the man questioned.

"There's you and me, Gang Orca... and I think that's it," the female answered.

Okay, that's not too many. Puppet frowned. Still annoying though.

"Let's hope the blast knocked her out."

Puppet quickly ducked behind a pile of bricks as she heard the heroes come closer and eventually walk into the building that she was in.

She peeked out from behind the rubble. She recognized the two heroes; they were two heroes from the Wild Wild Pussycats team: Tiger and Pixie-bob.

Puppet eyed Pixie-bob. She has an earth altering quirk, so as long as she doesn't touch the ground, I should be fine. She looked over at Tiger. And I'm not too worried about him, so long as he can't cut my strings that is.

Puppet jumped out from behind the rubble and shot strings from her fingers, wrapping them around both of the heroes. They instantly went to take action.

Pixie-bob reached out to try to touch the floor, but her arms weren't long enough. Tiger's limbs quickly grew and stretched before Puppet could do anything about it. He used the claws on the gloves of his hero costume to slice through the strings, freeing both himself and his teammate.

As soon as Pixie-bob dropped to the ground, she touched the floor, using her quirk.

The earth beneath Puppet started to rumble and quickly move upward. She lost her footing, having to place one of her hands on the ground to steady herself.

"Damn," Puppet cursed under her breath as she was shot up through the roof and out of the building. She backflipped off the piece of still moving earth and landed onto the concrete top of the building.

She looked around at her new surroundings, seeing the outside of what had been the bar completely littered in debris. As she looked in the air, she caught a glimpse of flying vermillion and beige. She briefly made eye contact with Hawks before turning back to pay attention to Tiger and Pixie-bob as they came up through the hole in the roof to face her.

Slowly, Puppet backed up towards the edge of the roof, closer to where Hawks was. Once she determined that she was close enough, she turned and ran towards the edge of the roof. She jumped off, her arm stretched out towards the winged man.

Hawks quickly tucked his wings and dove towards Puppet. He reached her quickly, grabbing onto her, their hands gripping each other's wrists and forearms tightly so that their grasp didn't slip.

He tugged her up to him, wrapping his arms around her waist and back, holding her against his chest so that he could have a more secure grip. She didn't protest, giving in and letting him hold her close.

Hawks looked out for a path to fly — somewhere to escape to. He spotted horde of pro heroes coming their direction and quickly turned, flying the other way back towards the League.

But Puppet stopped him from going back.

"Hawks, listen to me," she said, her voice stern.

He looked down at her.

"Get the League out. Compress will try to get to me, hold him back," she instructed.

"What?" His face twisted with panic and concern. "What are you doing?!"

"Just do it." She abruptly shoved her hands against his chest, forcing herself away from him and out of his arms. She fell through the air, towards the rubble below.

Hawks reached out to Puppet in an attempt to catch her. But when she gave him a determined glare, he backed off. Instead, he swiftly flew in the direction of where he had last seen a couple members of the League

Puppet turned to face the ground which was rapidly coming towards her. She used strings and grappled to a nearby destroyed building. She looked out to see how many heroes were around that area, finding that there were dozens - it seemed as if there was no end to how many were coming in the League's direction.

Her brow creased. So this is how many heroes came to try and catch us.

I have to put myself between them and the League. I can't let the heroes get to them. She took a deep breath, reaching into her pocket. She pulled out the small tracking device that Kurogiri had given her about a week prior. She flicked the near microscopic switch on the device, turning it on. She placed it into her mouth, onto her tongue, and swallowed it.

I have enough souls, I just have to make sure I don't pass out from overuse. She stepped out of the building and into the line of sight of the heroes.

Hawks quickly located the rest of the League, who had all reconvened with each other. He observed that Toga was being carried by Twice. Mr. Compress ran up to them, using his quirk to compress Toga. Dabi was burning a few things to ash; Hawks couldn't determine if what he was scorching were people or not. Shigaraki put his hand on a wall, decaying it and waving the other members forward.

Hawks arched his hands around his mouth. "Time to go!" he yelled down at them, flying over their heads. Twice, Dabi and Shigaraki began to run away from the oncoming heroes, following Hawks' flight path.

"Wait where's Puppet?!" Mr. Compress frantically called up at the winged man.

"She's buying us time! Now we need to go!"

Mr. Compress immediately turned and started to run back towards the heroes, as well as Puppet. To stop him, Hawks quickly swooped down behind the magician and hooked his arms under his. The winged man flew up into the air with the other man locked in his arms.

"LET GO!" Mr. Compress roared. When Hawks didn't let go, he started to struggle in his grip, legs kicking through the air. He started to flail his arms around, attempting to use his quirk on the other man, but he couldn't reach at the awkward angle.

"Sorry, Compress," Hawks apologized, "Puppet specifically asked me to keep you from her."

"PUPPET!" Mr. Compress called out hoarsely towards where he thought she might be.

Puppet grimaced when she heard the magician's desperate call out to her. She didn't turn around, keeping her focus on the heroes that had halted as soon as they'd seen her.

At the head of the group, stood the number one hero himself, Endeavor. "Puppet Master," he growled.

"Come quietly an' we won't hafta' hurt cha'," Fat Gum, who stood beside Endeavor said to the villain. He was ignored.

Puppet opened her hands, and a dozen souls swirled to life around her. "To get to the League, you have to get past me," she said.

She bolted from the heroes, instructing her souls, Attack and don't let them pass.
