First Impressions Can Be Misleading

Start from the beginning

"My name is Alois Trancy! I'm very pleased to meet you, my dear (Y/N)"

As you stepped onto the dance floor the music for The Waltz faded out and was replaced with the quick-paced music of The Tango.

"My specialty ~" The earl whispered in your ear.

He grabbed your hip and your right hand then began started to dance so perfectly. He stared into your (e/c) eyes the whole time and you stared back into his icy blue ones. It was as if you both were unable to look anywhere else. Alois was truley an amazing dancer and was a great dancing partner. You were actually doing quite well thanks to his lead.

Once the dance was over and the music had stopped, Alois dipped you lowly and started moving closer to you soft lips. You came to your senses almost too late and pushed on his chest to stand back up. Reluctantly he pulled away and helped you back up.

"Thank you! You have cured my boredom and I loved dancing with you, Earl Trancy. Now I must go before my master sees me and possible scolds me for being out here." You spoke energetically and nervously all at once. As you turned around and were about to walk away but Alois grabbed you wrist and pulled you close.

"I  will see you again, (Y/N). I promise you that." He whispers heavily into your ear and bit your earlobe ever so gently and he let you go. You looked back at him wide eyes and, again, a blush covered your (S/T) face.
You smiled bashfully and turned around again. Looking back one last time, you waved quickly and walked back to your lonely corner.

Awaiting your return was your master. You knew that Earl Trancy still had his eyes on you, which makes you feel much safer.

"Where did you go?!" The navy haired boy whisper yelled.

"I was asked to dance and accepted the offer. I thought it would be rude to say no to one of your guests" You chose each word carefully but the fear was evident in your voice.

You could tell that the lord wasn't in a pleasant mood tonight and a weird feeling of terror washed over you.
He grabbed you by you hair harshly and pulled to a nearby guest room.

He started to hit you with his walking stick. You didn't understand! Why would he gift you such a beautiful fress to wear if he hadn't wanted you to partcipate in the festivities?

This was the angriest you'd ever seen anybody. As he striked your body over and over you instinctively curled up and covered your mouth so the guests wouldn't hear your cries of pain.
He stopped hitting you after about 10 seconds had passed and was panting aggressivley.

Angrily he said, "Get back to your corner and stay there. You are supposed to look pretty and nothing else, do you understand?"

"Yes master." Your voice quivered as you spoke.

With that he walked out of the room and began to socialise with the guests once more as if nothing had ever happened. You noticed that you had a gash on your left cheek and bruises forming quickly all over you body. Your hair had become a rats nest and blood leaked down your forhead.
You got up, fixed your hair, dusted you self off and wet a cloth, with a near by bottle of water, to clean off your head and cheek.

Walking with shakey steps, your legs slowly carried you back to the ball room and to your corner once again.

Very soon after coming back out, you spotted Lord Trancy talking to some other nobles. The boy really was a sight to behold and you admired him from your place.

He looked out if the corner of his eye ever so slightly and saw you. Instantly and with intent, he began walking straight towards you. His eyes shined with anger and concern.

"Miss (y/n)! What happened?!" He looked at you, clearly upset about you present condition.

"What do you mean?" You looked away from his piercing eyes, moving the wound on your face away from his sight.

"Your face! Who did that?!" He gripped your delicately to inspect the gash more closely. He touched the fresh wound on your face and you winced as he made contant.

"My master did that, but I deserved it. I upset my young lord. There's no need to worry about a mear servant, Earl Trancy." You kindly smiled at the blonde haired boy, though tears were peaking out at the corner of your eyes.

"You could never do anything to deserve that! Besides, I was the one who asked you to dance! I pulled you to the dance floor and made you!" He was fuming. Why would he be this upset? You were just a maid! A nobleman like himself shouldn't worry. Perhaps he was just a kind hearted boy. There's no way he would be this upset about such a low class if he wasn't.

"(Y/n)? (Y/n)!", You were pulled out of your desperate and insecure thoughts and your chin was once again moved to look up at the Earl, "I have a question."

He looked you in the eyes and began to speak. "Will you come work for me instead of that bastard Phantomhive?" He looked very serious.

"Well, I dont know. I just started here... Wouldn't it be rude to just quit?" You looked at the floor.

"You would rather stay here and get beat instead of working for me?" He seemed offended.

"Well, I didn't say that-" You were cut off, "So you will come work for me?! Goody!" He smiled happily and began speaking again.
"I will send a carriage tomorr-"

"No!" You almost yelled out as you started to slightly shake your head. "Can't I just leave tonight with you after the ball?" Alois looked surprised but quickly smiled again.

"Of course!" He hugged you and walked away but not before saying, "Come find me when the ball has ended and I promise you take you away with me."

The young Earl smiled bigger than he had before when he asked you to dance.

"I promise, (Y/N)." He whispers in the sweetest tone you'd ever heard and quickly he swooped down and kissed you briefly. As pulled away he smirked down at you and walked back into the crowd of people

Your fingers moved to your lips and you just stared at Alois as he walked away.

'I hope this works' you thought to yourself nervously.
