I look down and nod then Alex grabs my hand.

"You are, babe." She says.

I smile.

"So Alex, you're a soccer player?" Ally's dad asks.

I watch her visibly gulp, "Uh, yep, I am!"

I squeeze her hand and she calms down.

"That's really great. And you're very good according to Riley."

"And me!" I say.

She chuckles, "I'm pretty good, yeah. I just love playing and I'm grateful for the opportunity."

"Well, we'd love to come see you play." Ally's dad says.

Alex's eyes widen, "Y-yeah! Of course! I can get you guys a suite, I'm planning on having these two in a suite at every game from now on-"

I chuckle, "Babe, it's okay. We will sit wherever."

She looks at me and smiles, "Okay."

"When are the next games?" They ask.

She sighs, "December 2nd in Miami and then December 5th in Dallas. I'm hoping Mack and Riley can get to Miami for the weekend."

I smile, "I think that can be arranged."

She smiles and kisses my cheek, "You guys are more than welcome to come."

"I think we could do that." They respond and I sigh happily.

'This is perfect.'

Alex POV - two days later

I wake up and press a kiss to Mack's cheek.

She sighs in her sleep and I smile.

I peel myself away from her and stand up, stretching.

I walk to the bathroom and throw my hair up then brush my teeth.

I walk out of the room and downstairs, heading to the kitchen.

I grab some coffee and throw a coat on, stepping outside.

I take a deep breath and watch the horses outside in their pasture.

"You're an early riser."

I startle and turn to see Ally's mom.

I smile, "It's the athlete in me."

She smiles, "Makes sense. Ally was an early riser, always out with the horses."

I bob my head, "She seemed like a pretty incredible person."

"She was. She had her flaws, but she loved Mack and Riley more than anything."

I smile, "They're hard not to love."

She nods, "They've been through a lot. We've all been through a lot. But I want you to know something."

My eyes widen, "What's that?"

"That we like you. That Ally would like you, actually probably love you."

I look down and smile, "I'm so grateful for that. I want to make sure she knows how much I care and I'm not trying to replace her."

"She knows. She would want them to be taken care of and it seems you're doing a good job of that."

I nod, "I'm so sorry for your loss."

She sighs, "Thanks. It's been hard, losing her. But we have Riley, who is a spitting image and she's so much like her."
