Waking up, it almost sounded like their was meteors hitting the Earth outside my window. Curious as to what was going on, I threw the covers that were keeping my body warm aside, and got up to peek through the curtains.

I let out a sigh when I saw it was just a moving truck. The 'Johnson's' home had been emptied for almost a year, its about time somebody decided to move in. I stayed there and watched for a second, for what looked like a pretty young, good looking woman who I assumed was a mom when I saw a teenage boy came around carrying boxes behind her, who looked about my age. He looked pretty far away, but from what I could see of him, he was pretty.. attractive.

I couldn't help but think it was kind of weird timing for them to move, I mean today was a school today.. would he be going to my school?

I decided to wait and see before heading to the bathroom and taking a quick shower, deciding on wearing a pair of my hollister skinnies, my beige batwing sweater, and a pair of my gray vans. I threw my frailed blonde hair up in a bun, and only applied a bit of mascara, bringing out my blue eyes even more. Sense it was a pretty rainy day in Denver, Colorado, you had to make sure you covered up, because it got cold quickly.

Walking downstairs, I noticed everyone else at the table already eating. I didn't bother to ask why they didn't just get me up earlier, and sat down at my usual seat.

Everyone was pretty quiet, so I decided to break the silence.

"Do you know whats going on next door?" I said, before taking an orange from the center of the table.

My dad shook his head, my brother doing the same, before I looked at my mom.

"All I know is its a single mother and her son, they got here this morning and began moving in, they're from Canada. From what I see, they seem pretty nice. I haven't gotten a chance to go and introduce myself, and make them feel welcome." Yes, my mom was one of those moms. She always had to make everyone else feel welcome, and happy. And she always knew what was going on in our neighborhood, no matter what it was. I mean, they just got here this morning, and she already knew who they were and when they got here.. stalker much?

"Do you know how old her son is?"

"Your age. I'm sure you'll see him in school today."

I smiled, taking another bite of my orange.

"This is your chance to have a boyfriend that lives just next door." My little brother Wyatt said from across the table, before I shot him a death glare.

"You better not be getting friendly with the boy next door." My dad added in. He wouldn't be my dad if he didn't give a comment like that.

"Don't worry about it dad." I said, giving him a smile before getting up to throw my peel away.

Grabbing my bag, I waited by the door for my mom to finish up, and watched out the window at the boy again.

The view from here still wasn't all that good, but I couldn't help but notice how strong he was. Not many guys are at our school were both attractive and strong, they were either one or the other, or none.

I examined his face, and couldn't help but notice he looked kind of.. angry. Or maybe he was just sad. It almost felt like I could tell how he feel when I watched him.

"You ready?" My mom said, touching my shoulder and making me practically jump out of my skin.

She gave a small laugh, before grabbing her coat and the keys and heading out the door to the car. I followed behind her, still keeping my eyes on the boy as he disappeared in the house with the boxes. Of course when I'm finally outside to get a closer look, he disappears..

Now I was hoping he would be at school today, it was starting to bug me.

Once we were on our way to school, my mom began humming to the radio, as I just pulled out my phone and read a few messages from one of my two bestfriends, Sophie.

from: soph<3

where are you?! are we still going to look to look at dresses for semi afterschool?? please please tell me you're going to be here, cause I'm not going to first period and sitting next to smelly Kelly all by myself!!

I laughed to myself, and got ready to send a message back, when my mom turned down the radio and began saying something.

"You know, I think it'd be really nice of you if after school you went next door and helped them unpack a bit. They need it, and it gives you a chance to get to know them a little better."

I sighed, looking back down at my phone, and figured dress shopping could wait. I wasn't really in the mood anyways.

To: soph<3

I'm gonna have to re-schedule, I'll talk to you about it later! I'll be there in a couple minutes, we'll face smelly Kelly together ;)

I put my phone back in my pocket, and grabbed my bag as the car came to a stop in the front of my school.

"Have a nice day, I love you!" My mom called from the car as I got ready to shut the door.

"Love you to mom." I said, laughing and rolling my eyes, which I know she hated, but c'mon, I wasn't a little kid anymore.. that doesn't mean I don't love my mom to death though, don't get me wrong.

Right as I got to my locker to grab my books for first period, Sophie and my other best friend Tatum slammed my locker door shut before turning me to face them.

Sophie poubted her lips, while Tatum began to fake cry, causing me to smile but be a bit confused at the same time.

"Whats wrong?" I said in between my laugh.

"Dress shopping is never the same without you! We need our Kristina!"

"Guys, semi isn't for a couple weeks."

"So?!" They both practically yelled at the same time.

"Mind to tell us whats keeping you from going?" Tatum said, raising her eye brows up and down.

I opened my mouth to tell them, when the bell rang.

"This isn't over!" Tatum said before turning down the hall, Sophie and I beggining to walk down the other.

I could hear Sophie trying to talk to me about some of the dresses she had in mind, but all I could think about was helping our new neighbors after school. I mean, I didn't want to be awkward, and I didn't want to intrude. I was kind of.. nervous.

As we got into our history class and settled into our seats, Sophie began talking to me again, but when I looked back at her and nodded, I wasn't listening to what she was saying. I was hoping this new kid would be in our class.

It finally got quiet, Sophie facing forward and scribbling down notes in her notebook, while everyone else got out there homework.

I turned my head towards the door as it slowly began to open, my heart beggining to pick up a bit of speed in hopes of it being the new kid. It was killing me.
