'We cage ourselves
in the confines of our own minds.
Anchor to our ankles dragging us down
Self-imposed chains.'

A sapphire horizon
A Cloud Kingdom so alluring.
Dreams of our childhood
Hopes of a far-gone nonage.

A burst of black
And then - realisation
We are alone, on our planks -
Dealing with life, all by ourselves.

It is all black and white
Despite -
Your emphasis
That 'life has its tints.'

I am mortally afloat
Immured in this chamber called
- Existence
These walls are cracked - no fresh coat
- Pure Persistence
Will be my saviour.
