and there she was, lilith, the person she wished she could avoid for a few months or maybe even more

“hey betty” viviana smiled warmly, as her and lilith walked towards the living room

“do you have a friend over?” lilith mumbled confused as viviana awkwardly nodded

“it's just jere” viviana shrugged as lilith raised a brow, but walked towards where the boy was and layed on the other couch as viviana raised a brow while jeremiah only looked at viviana in confusion

“i feel so stupid, and i have no one to talk to other than you guys” lilith mumbled, her voice muffled by the pillow

before either jeremiah or viviana could talk, jeremiahʼs phone rang.

it was belly

jeremiah looked at viviana and lilith then his phone, viviana almost saw the hesitation in his eyes

“just go jeremiah” lilith rolled her eyes at the boy, who nodded awkwardly and walked towards viviana to give her a kiss on her cheek making lilith frown

and just like that, jeremiah left too, leaving viviana all alone at her house again but this time with her cousin who was acting strange

“i don't like you two together” lilith groaned as viviana frowned “what?”

but right before liloth could answer, she started throwing up as viviana finally smelled the weed and alcohol that the girl seemed to be soaked in

DECEMBER, LAST YEAR

viviana sat on her bed, while being on the phone with justin as he was helping her with chemistry

"are you coming to cousins this summer?" justin asked as the two had finished the part they were working on for today

"yea I think so" viviana mumbled

"i still can't believed you haven't at least hooked up with someone since what happened with Ryan" justin rambled "or did you and you are keeping it a secret from me?"

"no justin I didn't" viviana groaned

"why not? I am sure there are many hot boys at your school"

"i mean I almost did — " viviana was cut off by justinʼs loud voice

"spell the tea right now" lilith asked from next to justin making viviana groan

"i thought you fell asleep!" the last thing viviana wanted was to share any information of that night

"well I am not, so tell me all about it"

"i pushed him away" viviana mumbled making justin laugh

"that's so you" it was justin who kept laughing

"why?" lilith didn't find this as funny as Justin

"i don't know I just didn't want him to touch me — like at all" viviana shrugged

" because it made you feel disgusted?" it was justin asking now, and his voice seemed serious this time

"yea" viviana mumbled "like I don't even like kissing someone I don't like" her bedroom door was opened by her mother

and just like that, the call ended and justin remembered every detail viviana said in that call

𓆉

it was a few days later when Justin and viviana were hanging out, that Justin kept staring at the girl accusingly

"what?" viviana huffed

"why are you lying?"

"i am not lying" viviana didn't change her words, even with the glare directed to her face

"do you really think I believe you are not purposely ignoring me?" justin laughed humorlessly

"why would i ?"

"because i know you viv," justin sighed

"what?" viviana mumbled confused

" you have never pushed me away, the only time you did was when you got a boyfriend " justin was losing his patience

"what is that supposed to mean?" viviana asked confused

"it means that you get a boyfriend and suddenly i have no room in your life " justin rolled his eyes at her obvious stupidity as viviana shook her head immediately

“that's . . . that's not true” but it was true.

“you know what viviana? when i am an actual person in your life, like a human being and not a toy you push away whenever you get bored of it come and talk to me”

and just like that viviana watched as justin too walked away from her

author's note!
