Without thinking, he surged forward and stabbed the soldier right through the chest. There was a moment of heavy silence before Felix pulled out his sword, and the man immediately collapsed, his eyes glossing over as he quickly bled out on the cell's floor.
The eyes of the prisoner met Felix's, shocked, yet grateful – but then the first soldier suddenly joined the fray once more, this time wielding a sword of his own, and obviously determined to cut Felix down. However, driven by his anger, he left himself wide open – and Felix used that opportunity to stab him right through the stomach. The irate soldier dropped his weapon, obviously shocked, before promptly collapsing, too. Still caught up in the heat of battle, Felix barely spared him a glance before he turned to the third soldier, the one he'd stabbed in the shoulder.
With a frightened scream, the man immediately took off, running out of the prison without another look back.
"... thank you," then whispered the prisoner, his voice shaking a little. "If- if you hadn't been there..."
"Are you alright?" asked quietly Felix, trying his utmost best not to look at either of the corpses at their feet. "I'm Felix. What's your name?"
"Wooyoung. And I'm fine, thanks to you."
"Did they..." Felix gulped, unsure of how to formulate it.
His fellow Omega offered him a shaky smile, shaking his head. "You got here in the nick of time."
The freckled man nodded mutely, no longer able to avoid looking at the corpses of the two men he'd just killed. Blood was seeping into the cracks on the floor, a few drops tainting his shoes, and his now felt incredibly heavy in his hands, yet he couldn't bring himself to drop it.
He'd killed. Again.
Againagainagainagainagainagain-
"Felix..." Two hands were suddenly cradling his face, and he inhaled sharply – when had he stopped breathing? "There you go, breathe for me."
"I- I'm sorry—!"
"You have nothing to be sorry for," assured firmly Wooyoung. "You defended yourself. You saved me. These men would have hurt the both of us if you hadn't done what you did."
"I killed them..." he choked out, fighting back his tears.
He'd killed two men, just like that. And this time around, they weren't even enemies – they were soldiers of the palace, and Changbin most probably knew them, and they surely had families of their own and—
"Felix, focus. We can't stay here – the other will soon return with reinforcements. We have to go! Come on!"
Wooyoung took the sword from Felix and used his other hand to grabbed Felix's before promptly dragging him outside. The freckled man was still in shock and could only follow, stumbling a bit as Wooyoung rushed them forward. Just as they made it out, however, shouts from the other side echoed.
"Shit, they're here! Come on, let's go!"
"W- wait!"
Wooyoung didn't listen, tugging him along as he ran in the direction opposite to that of the gaggle of guards now running after them. They ran through empty hallways and narrow passages, with Felix following Wooyoung because his fellow Omega had a surprisingly strong grip, and he was still reeling from the general situation.
Wait, Wooyoung is a prisoner, so of course he's trying to escape – but why is he dragging ME along for the ride!?
"Wooyoung, stop!" finally exclaimed Felix, finally snapping back to his senses.
