Time passed and we were almost ready gathering our things. As i was walking next to the couch i saw Sunshine and Aether still talking on the couch. Sunshine was crying. I understand her, i'm scared of going back too. I wish i could help her.
Then i got an idea. I walked to the couch and sat down next to Aether and Sunshine. "Aether i really can't go, i just really can't" Sunshine sobbed. "Sunshine, we finally have a chance to go home. Amelia tell her." Aether said. "Actually, i think she could stay here while everything is under control in the church. I can stay with her." I suggested.
Sunshine looked at me with her red, puffy eyes. "Really?" She asked, sobbing. "Amelia, i don't know if that is a good idea. I don't want to leave her behind. Again." Aether said. "Aether, just think about it. It's safer for her to stay here and then when you are finished and the church is safe, then we can come to you." I said.
"I don't know." Aether said hesitantly. "Aether please." Sunshine begged. "Rain, what do you think?" Aether asked "What?" Rain said, now interrupting what he was doing. "Amelia wants to stay here with Sunshine." Aether said. "What? Why?" Rain asked.
"I can stay here with Sunshine while you go back to the church and then you guys are done, then we can come to you." I explained. "I don't know Amelia. What if something happens?" Rain said. "We will be fine, Sunshine could rest here for a while before going back to the church and you guys make sure that it's safe for her to return. Okay?" I said.
"Okay. I trust you." Rain sighed. "But if something happens, you will call us right away." Rain continued. Aether sighed. "Okay you can stay, but please be careful." Aether said. "We should be saying that to you." I laughed.
Aether and Rain both headed to get their backpacks. "Thank you Amelia." Sunshine whispered. "It's nothing." I smiled. She wrapped her arms around me, i did the same pulling her into a hug. "Thank you" She whispered again.
After a while everyone were ready to leave and they started to head outside. I stood up from the couch and walked to Rain who was standing next to the front door, starting to put on his shoes. I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug.
"Be careful, okay?" I said, pressing my head against his chest. "I will." He said, hugging me back. "I'm going to miss you, you know?" I said, looking up to him. "I'm gonna miss you too." He said. "I wish i could stay with you, but we have to do this." Rain said.
"I get it and you are so brave for going." I said smiling. Rain looked at me, also smiling. He placed his hand on my cheek and lowered his face towards mine, pressing his forehead against mine.
We stayed like that for a while, our steady breaths blowing against the skin of our faces. "I love you" I whisper. Rain stayed quiet. Instead of answering he pressed his warm lips against mine. I wrapped my arms around his shoulder, deepening the kiss. "I love you too." Rain whispered, breaking the kiss. "I'll see you at home." I smiled.
Rain smiled and placed another small kiss on my lips, before heading towards the front door and going after others.
I headed towards the sofa where Aether and Sunshine were sitting. They also said their goodbye to each other. "Amelia, can i talk to you for a moment?" Aether asked. "Yeah, of course." I answered and followed Aether.
"Please watch over her, i'm worried." Aether said. "Of course i will. You don't have to worry Aether." I said. "I know, but i still do. It feels like i can't get anything out of her. I can see that she is not okay, but still she won't talk to me." Aether said. "And i have no idea how i can get her to come back home. She is so scared even thinking about returning to the church." Aether continued.
