I'm not scared anymore

Chapter twenty five: Sunshine

       "She is his mate" Copia said. "What?!" I asked. "Yes. Sunshine is Aether's mate and he has been worried sick about her since he was forced to leave her behind." Copia said. "Oh no no no. Aether is going to kill me." I said. "You didn't know Ifrit, but what you can do now is to take her to him so he can help her." Copia said.

       I had no choice, i owe Aether. "Okay, i'll do it." I sighed. "How do i find them?" I asked. "You have your phone, right?" Copia asked. "Yeah." I answered. "Take Aether's number from my phone and call him, when you get out." Copia said. "Okay" I answered. "What about you?" I asked. "I will stay here and put an end to this." Copia said. "Good luck" I said.

       I lifted Sunshine from the ground, back to my arms and headed out of the basement, leaving Copia behind. Luckily Alpha, Omega and Zephyr are out of the church, i just hope that i don't bump into them.

       I rushed through the hallways of the church towards the backdoor of the church. Luckily no one came across in the hallways. As i reached the backdoor of the church i hurried outside of the building.

      Sunshine was still losing blood, since her wounds haven't stopped bleeding. My clothes were covered in her blood also. I rushed to the woods, trying to get out of sight.

       As i was far enough from the church, i grabbed my phone from my pocket and started to call Aether. At first he didn't pick up, so i tried again. "Come on" I said to myself.

Aether: Who is this?
Ifrit: Aether it's me. Ifrit.
Aether: How do you dare call me, you are working for the sister. I'm hanging up.
Ifrit: NO! Aether wait.
Aether: Bye.
Ifrit: I have Sunshine.
Aether: What?
Ifrit: I have Sunshine.
Aether: If you are messing with me right now i swear to satan..
Ifrit: No, i'm not. Aether, she needs help.
Aether: What do you mean.
Ifrit: She is not doing well, she doesn't have much time
Aether: Ifrit, if this is some kind of trap i swear-
Ifrit: Aether, i would never do that to you. I owe you my life.
Aether: Where are you?
Ifrit: I just left the church.
Aether: Meet me at the small park close to the small town.
Ifrit: We will be there, but Aether, when i get there, don't get spooked, but it's pretty bad.
Aether: Just get there already.

I knew the place that Aether was talking about, i visited there many times when i still lived in earth. It wasn't that long a way for me to get there. I tried to hurry, Sunshine was getting weaker and weaker every minute.

        As i was getting closer to the park, i could already see two people standing in the park, waiting. The second they saw me, both of them ran to me.

Aether's pov:

My heart was pounding for like a thousand times per minute as we were waiting. Sodo wouldn't let me go alone, so he came with me.

       The time we were waiting for Ifrit felt so long. All the minutes felt like hours. Then i saw him. He was carrying her, he really wasn't lying, he had Sunshine. I rushed towards them.

       As i got closer, the horrifying truth was revealed to me. "Sunshine?!" I yelled. My heart dropped as i saw her limp body laying on Ifrit's arms. Her skin was completely pale. All of her limbs were full of cuts. "W-What, w-why?" I only  got out of my mouth. I was completely speechless.

       I grabbed her from Ifrit's arms. His clothes were covered with her blood. "Sister Susan, she umm... She- She did this." Ifrit said.

       Ifrit and Sodo talked about what had happened, but i wasn't even listening, all i could do was to hold her and look at her. Her skins was ice cold, her face didn't have it's usual beautiful blush, her skin was almost white. Some of her wounds were still bleeding. She looked so fragile. Her breathing was shallow, like she was fighting for her life, but running out of strength.

       "I'm so so sorry Sunshine, i'm sorry" I said, as i pulled her close to my chest. Tears welled up in my eyes. How could i let this happen, i wasn't there for her and this is the outcome.

       "Aether, we need to help her, she don't have much time." Ifrit said. "I'll text Mountain and Swiss to get here asap, but where do we take her? We can't go to the hospital." Sodo said. What can we do? She needs a doctor and a hospital, but once sister notices that they are gone, hospital is the first place where Susan is going to look for her. I thought for a while.

        "Ifrit call us a taxi, Sodo call to Cirrus or Cumulus and ask them to find some sort of small health center or clinic as fast as possible." I ordered.

       Soon after Swiss and Mountain arrived to the park. "What is going on?" Swiss asked. "We have no time for questions. Ifrit, where is that taxi?" I asked. "It should be here any second." Ifrit answered. "Oh my satan, what happened?" Mountain asked horrified after seeing Sunshine. "Susan" I answered shortly.

        Soon after the taxi pulled over, all of us squeezed into the car. Mountain and Sodo squeezed in the front seat with the driver and me, Sunshine, Ifrit and Swiss were at the back seat. Sunshine was laying in my lap, her legs resting at Ifrit's lap.

       We started to drive toward the city. On the way Sodo called Cirrus to ask if they had found a place. While Sodo was speaking with Cirrus i was rushing the driver, since i could feel Sunshine getting weaker and weaker.

Sodo: Did you find the place?
Cirrus: Yes, we are here now, we are at the *some address*
Sodo: Great, we are there soon.
Cirrus: Are you going to explain to me why we are here?
Sodo: I explain when we get there.
*Aether in the background*: Faster, she is barely breathing!
Cirrus: Wait, who is not breathing? What is going on?
Sodo: Sunshine
Cirrus: Wha-
Sodo: Tell the nurses to be ready, we are there soon

Finally we arrive at the clinic. I jump out of the car with Sunshine and Ifrit. Sodo, Swiss and Mountain stayed to pay to the driver. I ran inside carrying Sunshine in, Ifrit running right behind me.

       Sunshine's condition had gone even worse during the ride here. She was barely breathing and i couldn't feel her pulse from her wrist anymore.

       "Aether, you're finally he-" Cirrus started, but stopped right as we got inside. "Sunshine?? What happened?" Cumulus asked. "Please, help her" I said to the nurse, walking right past Cirrus and Cumulus. "Bring her here" The nurse rushed us, pointing to a patient room. I followed the nurse quickly. There was three nurses already waiting in the room. "Place her here" One of the nurses pointed.

      I lowered Sunshine to the bed and took a step back so the nurses had more room. They started immediately working on her. "She is not breathing" One of the nurses yelled. "There's no pulse, start compressions." The other one yelled.

      I looked horrified as they started to press her chest, trying to revive her. "Someone put an i.v. and secure her airways." One of the nurses yelled. "And get him out of here." The nurse continued.

       "Come on Aether, let's let them do their job." Ifrit said, leading me out of the room. "I can't leave her, not again." I said stopping, refusing to leave. "You are not leaving her, you will wait on the other side of the door so they can have space to treat her." Ifrit said, pulling me after him.

        I looked into the room for as long as i could. The nurses were doing compressions on her chest, putting an i.v. and ventilating her.

       One of the nurses closed the door and i was snapped back to reality. "Aether, what the hell happened?" Cirrus asked. Tears were streaming down my face. I couldn't say anything, i couldn't lose her.

        "It's my fault." I whispered, looking to the ground. "What?" Cirrus asked, not hearing what i said. "It's my fault" I said a little louder, lifting my gaze to her. "No Aether, this is not your fault." Cirrus said. "How can you know? You don't even know what happened to her" I said. "Then tell me." Cirrus said. "I don't even know what happened to her." I cried.

        Cirrus wrapped her arms around me, pulling me into a hug. "Let's sit down, okay?" Cirrus asked. I nodded, sitting next to her. "Ifrit, i suppose?" Cirrus asked. Ifrit nodded. "What happened to her?" Cirrus asked.

       Everyone looked at Ifrit, waiting for him to start explaining. Ifrit sat down towards us and let a deep breath out of his mouth. Then he started explaining.
