I turned to Amanda
"By the way, how's Sam?"
"She's good, she's out with her friends right now, but she'll be back soon."
"And Anthony?"
"Right here." he said coming into the living room while playing a video game.
"How's it going?"
"Busy. Gaming."
I chuckled and looked to Amanda.
"That's our usual."
Daniel called from the kitchen
"Anthony, get off that game!"
"Yeah, yeah." Anthony rolled his eyes and continued playing.
Shortly, Daniel had finished dinner and we all gathered around the table.
Daniel poured me a glass and raised his.
"I just wanna say, its great to have you back here, Y/n. We've missed you. Family is what is most important."
"I'll drink to that!" Amanda cheered and we clinked our glasses.
The dinner was going well. Then the door unlocked. Some giggles were muffled for a moment. In walked Sam.
"I'll see you later." She said to a dark haired boy who started to leave.
"Sam!" Daniel said with a smile.
"Oh hi Dad. Mom. Y/n?" she had a surprised smile on her face, and I smiled back.
"Sam, you can invite your friend in for a bit." Daniel said as he approached the door.
"Really?"
"Yeah. Hey c'mon in!" he shouted to the boy not far from the door.
He turned and came inside.
"What's your name, Sam's friend?"
"Miguel. Sir."
I looked up from my plate to see Miguel being led to the table by Daniel.
"Here, take a seat next to Y/n."
Miguel smiled as he took his seat.
"Miguel, Y/n and our family go way back."
"Yeah she stayed with us for a few years. It was so fun." Sam smiled.
"Wow. I had no idea." he said to me
"yep."
The dinner continued on.
Soon, the conversation started to shift.
"So Miguel, what do you do in your spare time?" Daniel asked
"I do karate. Well, Y/n has seen." he chuckled.
Amanda and Daniel looked at each other.
"Do you two know each other?" Amanda questioned.
"Yeah, we train at Cobra Kai together." Miguel stated and took a bite of his food.
Daniel dropped his utensils, making a very dramatic clanging sound.
"You too? He's really bringing back Cobra Kai? What the hell is with that guy?" his hands clenched into fists.
Miguel looked at me and Sam, not knowing what he said wrong.
"I'm sorry, did I say something I shouldn't have?" Miguel worried
"Its okay." Sam whispered to Miguel, placing a hand on his arm.
