Start from the beginning

One thing that you've noticed is that a lot of people will suddenly approach you to look at Seiji. Worst of all is that they think they can put your hands on your baby, and you've lost count of all the old ladies that you've had to stop from touching your baby. You wonder what Satoru does when he takes Seiji out grocery shopping. You love watching Tsumiki be overprotective, trying to tell the older women to leave Seiji alone– Same thing with Megumi, but Megumi is meaner about it, straight up saying, "Don't put your filthy hands on Seiji."

When you get home, you give Seiji a bath before you put him down for a nap. You begin to set up the place to surprise Satoru, which you aren't having too much fun with when you're blowing up balloons. You're not sure if Satoru will even appreciate this, and you're frankly not so sure that you're doing a great job. Tsumiki tries to help you out as well, and you two try your best to make the place look presentable.

You have a banner that says happy birthday, and some balloons taped together. It's nothing too fancy or impressive, but you hope it's good enough for Satoru. You patiently wait for the man to show up, while you sit back on the couch and relax, which is an activity that you rarely do.

Something that you absolutely hate about Satoru is how quiet he can be. When he puts his hands on your shoulders, you jump in your seat. You look up to find him looking down at you. There's a smile on his lips, and you so badly want to smile back at him but you can't. Your heart is racing after the scare.

"Do you like the decorations?" You ask him, and he takes a look around. He hums in response.

"Did you do all of this?" He replies.

"No, Seiji did." You joke, and you're not able to contain your laughter. He laughs as well. He takes a seat beside you on the couch, and he throws his arm over you, making you lean your head on his shoulder, "Tsumiki helped me. I know it's not all that great but we tried our best."

"I love it." He tells you, pressing a kiss on the top of your head. "And you're the sweetest for doing this. Thank you."

"I'm glad you like it." You respond. You enjoy the moment, appreciating the rare silence that occurs. You know it'll be interrupted in a second, eventually Tsumiki will yell at Megumi because she finds a beheaded doll, or Megumi simply arguing with Tsumiki.

You enjoy each other's presence, simply listening to each other's breathing. Until the fighting starts, and Satoru chuckles. He kisses the top of your head, "Where's my baby boy?"

"He's taking a nap." You inform him.

"You two better shut up before you wake the baby!" Satoru yells, which is ironic. After Satoru yells, Seiji begins to cry, and he curses himself before getting up from the couch and walking to the nursery to pick up his son.

You stand up and follow, leaning on the doorframe and watching as Satoru picks up baby Seiji from his crib. Seeing his father soothes the baby, and it brings the biggest smile to Satoru's lips. Satoru kisses Seiji's forehead, and he mutters, "You're my greatest gift, Seiji."

There's a smile on your lips as this immense happiness consumes you. He's the perfect man for you, the man that you want to wake up next to every single day of your life. You have no idea why it takes this moment to realize it.

Before he can notice you (at least you think he doesn't notice you), you walk to the kitchen and look around for the ring that Satoru left. He claimed that if you wanted to put it on, you could simply grab it. And that's what you do, pick up the ring and put it on your left ring finger.

"You want some mashed bananas, Seiji?" You hear as Satoru walks out of the nursery. You never really pictured him to be this kind of father, but he loves putting on a baby voice when he talks to his baby boy. Satoru is simply the sweetest and the most attentive father. Satoru puts Seiji in his highchair. "We have bananas, right? Don't want him waiting for nothing."

"We do have bananas." You tell him, looking for one and handing it to him. That's when light hits the ring, and reflects. A big smile comes to his lips when he notices it, and he freezes in his spot.

"Are you serious?" He asks, and you nod, returning the smile. His arms wrap around you and his lips go down to meet yours. He pulls away when he hears Seiji coo. "You want to be my wife?"

"I do." You respond. You can't help but look into each other's eyes for a minute, until Seiji makes a whiny noise. "Mash the banana and give it to him before baby boy has a heart attack."

"I will." He nods, and he does as you tell him. You walk over to Seiji and give him the attention he wants, putting your palms over your face and then removing them. Peek-a-boo always works with him, causing him to burst into laughter. You manage to entertain him until Satoru puts the small plate on Seiji's high chair. Satoru begins to feed the baby, and you just watch– While you're usually sitting down to appreciate the small break, you can't help but watch.

It's not ideal, but you're glad this is your life.

Singing happy birthday to Satoru is a rather awkward experience. Tsumiki is enthusiastic, Megumi is not so much, and you're the balance between them. Satoru isn't all that focused on that either way, he's trying to clap his baby's hands. Seiji sits on his lap, looking up at his father and then at the cake that's in front of him with two candles lit up.

When he blows out his candles, Satoru can confidently say this is the best birthday he's ever had. He watches you as your finger picks up some frosting, and he has to turn off his infinity so you can put it on the tip of his nose. He laughs, tilting his head, "Really?"

"Do we get cake now?" Tsumiki asks, and you nod in response. You stand up to get the knife to cut the cake, and plates to serve them. Megumi claims that he won't be eating because it wasn't the cake he picked out, and the one that you got simply looks too sweet.

"Are you sure you don't want some, Megumi? You have to eat for Seiji since he won't be eating any." You comment, and he nods in response. He stands firm by his answer– In other words, he's stubborn. Even when his eyes sparkle and his mouth salivates at the sight of the cake.

"Can Seiji suck on the strawberry?" Satoru asks, grabbing one of the strawberries that decorates the cake.

"If you mush it up." You respond, cutting a slice of the cake and putting it on a plate before giving it to Tsumiki. Satoru stands up, holding Seiji with one arm.

"Next year you better sing along with them, Seiji." Satoru says, kissing the top of his baby's head.

He's sure that every passing year his birthday will get better and better.
