Chapter twenty two: RUN

Start from the beginning

I returned to Amelia, who was still asleep. She needs to rest well and maybe she'll get better, i hope. I layed down on the sofa so Amelia could sleep comfortably on the bed. I closed my eyes, pulling a blanket over me. I was really worried about others, i hope they are okay.

I headed to the infirmary, feeling awful. I've never felt this bad in my life. My vision looks blurry and my head was killing me, all of this couldn't be just because of the stress.

I went in and started looking for the nurse. "Excuse me, are you the nurse?" I asked. "Yes i am, can i help you?" She answered. I haven't seen her never before, but i guess she is new. "Yeah, i don't feel good, would you have time to check me up?" I asked. "Yes of course, just follow me." She said and headed to one of the patient rooms.

I slouched after her. "Here you can lay down" She pointed to the bed. I did as she told. I was already exhausted from walking there, my heart was racing and my breathing felt heavy. "So what is wrong?" She asked. "My heart is racing, my head hurts really bad, i feel exhausted, like i'm gonna pass out any second." I said. "Okay, when did it start?" She asked. "I'm not sure, not long ago. But it has been getting worse and worse." I answered. "Okay, you can stay here and i will come back soon to see how you are doing." She said, leaving the room.

I turned to my side, placing my hands on my forehead, trying to stay awake. I don't understand where is all this coming from, i'm almost never sick. My head was pounding, it felt like it was going to explode. My whole body was aching, i was way too tired and exhausted to move, but still everywhere hurt so bad that it was hard to stay still.

A little while later the nurse came back to the room. "How are you doing?" She asked. "Awful" I answered shortly. "That's sad to hear. I brought you this injection, it's going to make you feel better." She said. "It does?" i asked. "Yes." She answered.

I was a little doubtful, but at this point i would do anything to feel better. She injected the medicine to my arm. "There, it will take some time until it will start to affect, so just stay here and i will come see you later." She answered. "O-Okay?" I said, a little confused. I don't know why she leaves me here alone feeling like this and after giving me some random medicine.

Time passed and i wasn't feeling any better, in fact it was just getting worse. I took my phone from my pocket, thinking i would call Aether. Just as i was dialing his number i overheard two nurses talking outside of my room.

"Why they want to get rid of them?" Other nurse asked from the other. "I don't know, i heard that Sister Susan is disgusted by them and she will do anything in her power to get rid of all of them." Other answers. "Yeah, but every single ghoul has been so sweet and friendly. Maybe it's something personal. I don't think they deserve to be sent back to hell." Other one of them says.

I couldn't believe what she was saying. She is sending us back? I have to warn the others. I grabbed my phone and tried to call Aether but he wasn't answering. Damn it. I sat up on the bed and tried to stand up. The whole world was spinning around me and the pain in my head was just radiating to my whole body.

My face twisted in pain as i walked towards the door of my room. "Hey, you shouldn't be walking." The nurse says to me. "I'm feeling so much better, i'm gonna get going." I lied walking past them. "No you can't go" The nurse yelled after me. "Go get her nurse." The other nurse says to the other.

I walked as fast as i could. I was leaning to the walls trying to keep myself standing. I couldn't see basically anything, my vision was completely clouded.
