Chapter 35

"Do you live here...all alone?" Dick asked softly while her back was to him. "Um...yeah...sort of. I'm never really alone with all the plants here." "Is it safe here?" "It's alright." (Y/n) said nonchalantly while opening the large windows. "Not like I can't take care of myself though, Dick."

(Y/n) turned to face Dick as she nodded her head over towards the window. He made his way across the living room making sure to take in all the small details of the apartment. "You sure this is a great view?" He asked with a teasing smile. "One of the bests." (Y/n) said before climbing to stand on the window sill.

"Be careful." The hero said making (Y/n) roll her eyes. "Relax, wonder boy. I got a safety net." She said with a small smile as she tugged on a vine that had connected to the wall. Dick rolled his eyes before standing on the floor in front of the window.

The boy wonder's eyes widened at the sight of the city. (Y/n)'s window had a perfect view that went straight down the middle of the streets. The moon even hung directly in the center of the view. The stars weren't as bright with all the city lights, but they were still visible. Dick's breathe was definitely taken away by the spot (Y/n) had picked.

The teenager made from roses couldn't help but smile at her old friends reaction. His bright blue eyes seemed to sparkle in the moonlight as he stared at the city around him. (Y/n) offered her hand down to Dick. Her cold hand having a few small red blossoms. He eagerly took her hand and she helped pull him up into the window sill. He watched small red roses grow through her cheeks before she turned her head away plucking away the petals.

After plucking her cheeks, (Y/n)'s free hand met back up with the plants around the walls. Both teens watched as the vines grew and tangled together. Various kinds of flowers blooming throughout them as they made a floral swing. Dick couldn't help but smile at what (Y/n) had made as he let go of her hand and they both sat comfortably in the swing.

"I have to admit...this is an incredible view." Dick said as his feet slightly pushed the swing back and forth. "Told you it was one of the bests." (Y/n) said softly and he couldn't help but glance over at her. He was able to see the soft smile playing on her lips as she stared at the view.

"While you were at the tower, did you ever go up to the roof?" Dick asked as he turned his full attention to the girl. (Y/n) answered by shaking her head no as her gaze stayed forwards. "Since it's a bit off the shore and farther from the city, you can see the stars a bit better. The next time you come by, I can show you...if you'd like." As Dick spoke, he was able to feel his cheeks heat up slightly.

Dick had recently started to feel a bit nervous about his actions around (Y/n). Maybe it was because he didn't know what they were. Were they friends? Enemies? Acquaintances? She was starting to make him feel some sort of way. He had no idea what it was, but he didn't hate it.

"Y-yeah...I'd like that." (Y/n) said as she sent him a soft smile. The action somehow made the boy wonder's cheeks heat up more. (Y/n) had turned back to face forward completely missing the blush on his cheeks.

"You know what view was...absolutely, just...immaculate?" (Y/n) asked. "The one from Wayne manor?" Dick asked only to receive a soft laugh and a head shake. "That one was really good, but there's one that will forever be number one in my heart." "Which one is that?" Dick asked softly.

Blue, lavender, white, orange, light pink, and even red roses started to form on (Y/n)'s cheeks. Dick couldn't seem to take his eyes off of the girl next to him. "The first few times I saw the night sky...those were the best."

Dick noticed the roses start to grow in her hair and on her arms. He didn't know why, but he wanted to see more of them. He wanted to see them like how they were before. Completely free. Unbound by the top layer of her skin. Untouched by her hands that seemed to almost always make them disappear as soon as they emerged.
