To become burned
Or experience pain
Is how you learn
Inside your brain
That what you felt was real
Whether tangible or not
The truth is revealed
When you feel distraught
The sun leaves a burn
On our outer shell,
Which tells us that
Too long in it we dwelled
Love leaves behind despair
Burning holes on the inside
But, we can always tell where
Heartbreak hurt our pride
Shattered bones are proof
That our body has failed
We can't remain aloof
Bloody facts are unveiled
Injury may be self-inflicted
Or caused by other means
Yet, reality is depicted
When we seek what makes us scream
How do you know what was real
If you were never hurt?
By letting our tears spill
Context we can assert

Random Bits Part II
PuisiA continuation of poetry similar to that in my first self-published novel. I will slowly begin adding some newer things from the past few years since I published the first book.
