Superstar celebrity; Ankush, a shelled personality, complete in himself, a man of very few words. He never confess verbally but his actions says a lot. On the other hand an extroverted Assistant Director Priya needs to hear everything in clear words...
They burst into laughter, causing a few heads to turn their way. It was as if their laughter had a magnetic pull, inviting others to share in the joy. A couple of crew members joined them, and soon, their lunch break became a mini picnic.
"Anki, remember that scene where you had to do that tricky stunt?" Priya teased, referring to a recent shoot day. Ankush, at first mostly silent, began to listen more attentively. He would put his phone down and give her his full focus, his eyes capturing the nuances of her expressions as she spoke. His responses, though still concise, began to carry a touch of genuine interest.
Ankush rolled his eyes playfully. "How could I forget? You were the one who jinxed it by saying 'Faad ke aana'."
Priya laughed, feigning innocence. "Hey, it's a good luck phrase!"
Their banter continued, the minutes slipping away unnoticed. Priya couldn't help but marvel at how comfortable she felt around Ankush. The lunch break had become more than just a chance to eat; it was a sanctuary of friendship and laughter amidst the chaos of the shoot.
Their interactions became more candid, their conversations a blend of laughter, and a growing comfort with each other. They discussed their dreams, their families, and the little things that brought them joy.
One afternoon, Priya brought up a topic that had been on her mind. "Ankush, do you ever worry that people might misunderstand us? I mean, given our on-screen chemistry, some fans might think there's something more between us."
Ankush's response was measured, his tone reflective. "It's not something I care about. People will have their opinions no matter what we do. As long as we know the truth, that's what matters."
Rain-soaked Laughter and Unspoken Care
On the set of the web series, there was a day that promised both romance and challenge. It was the day of shooting a pivotal romantic scene, and as luck would have it, rain was the chosen backdrop. Artificial rain, of course, created by the magic of technology and gallons of water.
The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the crew prepared for the scene. Ankush and Priya stood side by side, going over their lines and blocking. Priya's excitement was palpable, mixed with a hint of nervousness about the upcoming drenching.
As the cameras started rolling, the rain machines were switched on, and the scene began. Ankush and Priya moved through the scene, their dialogue charged with emotion, their faces shining with raindrops. But as the takes continued, the challenge of shooting in the rain became evident. The crew had to constantly adjust the lighting, and the actors had to battle the cold water that soaked through their costumes. Despite the discomfort, determined to capture the perfect shot.
"You know," he began with a playfully exaggerated tone, "I used to think I had a perfect jawline, but yours might just be better than mine."
Priya burst into laughter at his unexpected compliment, her amusement uncontainable. "Really? Did you just notice that today?"
He shrugged, his smile unwavering. "I've noticed before, but today it hit me like a lightning bolt."
Adi, the ever-present assistant, stepped in to adjust Ankush's shirt."Just a little tweak, sir."
Ankush's irritation was audible in his retort. "Haa tu andar hi hath daal le!!!!" "
As the banter continued, Adi, "A little to the left," Adi instructed, focused on his task. Adi didn't seem to take offense, carrying on with his task as if immune to Ankush's teasing bickering.
Priya, observing the interaction, couldn't resist a playful jab. "Is he always like this? So difficult?Bada khadush saa hai na"
Adi, knew it would be best to be focused on Ankush's hair, adjusting it with meticulous care.
Ankush pretended to be affronted, putting on an exaggerated tough-guy expression. "Hey now, I have my moments of sweetness."
Priya raised an eyebrow, her smile growing wider. "Sweetness? Are we talking about the same person? I knew about your reputation of real Khadush"
Ankush tossed his hair with an air of nonchalance, a grin playing on his lips. "Beta!! you haven't seen anything yet. This is just the tip of the iceberg."
Priya gave him a playful punch on the arm, her laughter infectious. "Oh really? Show me then!"
"Sure thing, after the shoot," Ankush responded with a smug smirk, keeping the banter alive.
"Nahi- nahi abhi dikha na!!" she teased
"We are in the middle of the shoot! Ab yaha pit te achhi nahi lagegi na!!!" he laughed
"What did you say???" she said while squeesing his cheeks.
"Ahhhh!!!!!! Just kidding! Kidding!!" he said while saving himself from her grip
"Beta! Tu hoga sher bakiyo ke liye but in front of me, you are Bheegi billi!" she said with a side smile
As the shoot continued, Ankush seemed to notice something about Priya that others might have missed. She was shivering more than usual, her attempts to hide it with a smile not going unnoticed by him.
Without drawing attention to it, Ankush subtly adjusted his movements. He took a step to shield her from the full brunt of the rain, his body acting as a makeshift umbrella. He made sure to keep her on the slightly drier side of the set, using his presence to provide her with some relief from the chilly water.
Ankush's care didn't stop there. During another break, he signaled to his spot boy, quietly asking him to fetch an extra towel. The spot boy hurried off, returning with the requested items. Ankush handed them to Priya with a nonchalant smile, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Priya's eyes softened with gratitude as she wrapped the towel around herself. She didn't say anything, but the warmth of his unspoken gesture was not lost on her.
As the crew packed up, Ankush and Priya stood side by side, their clothes clinging to them and their hair damp. Despite the challenges, they shared a smile, a silent acknowledgment of the bond they had formed amidst the rain.
The day on the set wound down, the crew members gradually made their way towards the dining area for a well-deserved dinner. Among them, Priya found herself making her way to Ankush's room, her own plate of dinner in hand. Their friendship had reached a point where such actions felt completely natural.
Entering Ankush's room, Priya glanced around, her eyes falling on his bed. With the same ease as if she were in her own space, she settled down on the bed's edge. It wasn't a conscious decision, but rather a reflection of the comfort they shared.
Noticing that she was a bit chilly in the air-conditioned room, Priya's gaze fell on Ankush's jacket hanging nearby. Without hesitation, she reached for it, slipping it over her shoulders. It was a simple gesture, one that demonstrated the level of familiarity they had developed. There were no formalities between them, no need for unnecessary words.
Ankush, who had been occupied with his own plate of food, looked up and gave her a smile as she settled on his bed. His room felt welcoming, as if it had made space for her as naturally as it did for him.
