Chapter 2: The Class Reunion

Start from the beginning

Her smile started to disappear as she heard her previous classmates' comments.

"Will you guys just knock it out?" She hears the class rep say again.

"But it's true, Kenji. Why did you invite her here, anyway?"

"That's right. She can't even dress for the occasion."

"True. She is making us look lame."

The negative comments continue and all of it starts to become distorted in her ears. It wasn't new to her—the bullying. Ever since in high school, she has always been getting bullied by her classmates. It's one of the reasons why she refused to attend tonight's gathering. And she expected something like this. Yet she still chose to.

All to see Kenji.

What made her high school tolerable is her best friend, Asami Kimura, and the kind class rep, Kenji.

"Let us guess, Samidori-san..." She raised her gaze and met eyes with one of the female bullies she had before, the woman who was so jealous of her best friend, Chika Miura.

"...you have no boyfriend." The others started giggling as the bully remarked that.

"Well, there's no wonder." Another female says, Inoue Sasaki and turns to Chika.

"If I were a boy, I wouldn't want to date her either. Just look at her." Inoue added and eyed her ridiculously from head to toe.

That's when Chika brought out something Sarina wanted to bury in the past.

"Ah! Remember that one time that she confessed to Ke—"

"Miura-san!" She raised her voice which silenced all of them. She realized what she had done, hence, she is suddenly overcome with shame.

"Oh my~ Listen to her finally talking back." Chika then stands up too to match her tall resolve.

"You think you're so tough now since Kenji is being nice with you even after your embarrassing confession in high school, huh, Nerd?" The black-haired starts to seethe in silent shame and anger while listening to the chic Chika say those words as if to reopen a wound that she thought she mended a long time ago.

"T-That's not it. W-What I'm saying is...for you not to bring it back." She said while avoiding the woman's gaze, as well as everyone else's.

"But it's true, isn't it?" The blonde bully even says while walking closer to her with crossed arms.

"You're actually amazing for showing up in here after being so utterly embarrassing." Sarina's pair of greens eyed the mean girl slightly angry.

"What? Aren't you going to call Asami to help you like she usually does?" The other added, which made her eyes shake in shame and hesitate.

"That's enough, Miura. I have forgotten about it already. Will you just sit down and let everyone enjoy tonight?" They hear Kenji speak with authority. Yet, the bully isn't done.
